- An owner of Tesla Cybertruck says they are at a loss after FSD has caused an accident on the highway.
- They claim that the truck accelerated alone and hit a railings.
- Obviously, Tesla herself does not respond, so the owner opened a complaint with the NHTSA.
Tesla owners through the United States have access to complete autonomy (FSD), an imperfect-autonomous program. Some owners defend it as the bleeding edge of autonomous technology. Others, like the owner of Cybertruck at the heart of this story, believe that it is incredibly dangerous. They go so far as to claim that it almost cost them their lives.
In a complaint filed with the NHTSA, the owner says that his truck “suddenly accelerated, has become uncontrollable and crashed into the balustrade”, while using FSD. They were then able to take control of the truck and guide it to a safe place to stop. “We were almost killed. Please help. This is how they sign their complaint. Fortunately, they also report zero injuries following the accident.
Plus: Teslas now goes from the production line to the loading quays unattended
That said, the owner declares that there are significant damage to the truck. In fact, despite this, he said that “Tesla does not respond to my complaint”. It looks like the addition of the injury. It should be noted that in the same way that anyone on the internet can write what he wants, almost anyone can subject a report like this to the NHTSA.
Although the agency requires a real wine number for a report, a person could submit completely fictitious information beyond. There is no reason to believe immediately that this NHTSA complaint is false, but it should be noted that this report seems to be the only place where the owner spoke about it online.

Despite research on other NHTSA complaints, on various forums and groups, we cannot find another example of allegedly involuntary acceleration in the Cybertruck. Be that as it may, the NHTSA will undoubtedly be interested in it, because it works thanks to a current survey on Tesla FSD technology. He started at the end of last year after several incidents, including a fatal accident involving the complete autonomous driving system.
Here is the entire complaint and not published filed with the NHTSA.
“By driving my cybertruck to the highway using the Tesla FSD (fully self-driving). The vehicle suddenly accelerated, has become uncontrollable and crashed into the balustrade. Fortunately, I was able to control after the accident and led him safely. The truck is seriously damaged and Tesla does not respond to my complaint. We were almost killed. Please help.
