  • The electric SUV is 8 inches more than the model Tesla but promises up to 472 miles of reach.
  • Xiaomi has not yet confirmed the battery sizes for its first electric SUV.
  • The double -engine all -wheel drive and a single -motor rear traction traction will be available.

Eight weeks ago, Xiaomi abandoned the blankets from its long -awaited electric SUV, known as Yu7. Although he should probably have to name it SU7, rather than using this badge for its electric sedan, the second EV of the company has the potential to be the most popular model of the brand. And on the basis of recent Chinese government’s deposits revealing additional details on this subject, it is well placed to give Tesla Model Y a serious series for his money.

Data from the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technologies reveal that the all -wheel drive versions of the YU7 have cited CLTC range of 416 miles (670 km), 466 miles (750 km) and 472 miles ( 760 km). Although the Chinese test cycle is known to be extremely optimistic, these figures compare well to the Tesla model recently updated Y.

The new Y model, with a design inspired by cybercab, was launched in China a few weeks ago and has already been extremely popular. It is offered in the rear traction and the long -range all -wheel drive configurations. The basic RWD model has a range of 368 miles (593 km), while the all -wheel drive has an estimated CLTC range of 447 miles (719 km). Xiaomi has not yet announced a range of range for the Yu7 RWD, but the flagship tensile variants wrap a comparable model Y. Curiously, Xiaomi has not yet announced the capacities of the available battery packs from the YU7, although Such details are confirmed in due time.

It is impressive when you consider that the yu7 is a little larger than the Tesla. You see, while the new model is 188.8 inches (4,797 mm) long, the YU7 measures 196.8 inches (4,999 mm) long. It also has an 118 -inch (3,000 mm) wheelbase compared to the Empatry Empat (113.7 inches) 2,890 mm of the Tesla. This should give it more second row space than the Y model.

The final prices of the Xiaomi Yu7 remain a mystery, but the local media suggest that it should start at around ¥ 250,000 (~ $ 34,700). If it is true, it would allow it to undermine the Y RWD model which starts at ¥ 263,500 (~ $ 36,600). Obviously, the high -end versions of the YU7 will be a little more expensive, but should be close to the starting price of ¥ 303,500 (~ $ 42,200) of the long -range all -range transmission of model Y.

Unfortunately for those who live outside China, Xiaomi does not sell its cars outside China and will probably not do it for a while. In mid-December, a report appeared suggesting that Xiaomi could extend to international markets in the future, but will do so first by selling limited models to test the responses from different countries.
