Cars like the Porsche 911 Dakar and Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato have aroused new interest in sports cars and high -level supercars, and wishing to get involved, Kalmar Automotive has published his own robust 911. On the basis of a 997 model, the car is nicknamed the RS -7 (we do not know what Audi will feel on this subject …) and is delivered with a raft of modifications.

Kalmar decided not to use a more modern 911 for a simple reason. The Porsche 911 built after generation 997 have complex aluminum and steel frames which are glued and linked together. According to Jan Kalmar, this is not suitable for a safari car which should be repairable with a hammer and a welder. This is why they went with the 997, because it was the last 911 with a complete steel chassis.

The changes started with the body. It now includes flared wings at the front and rear. There is also a duck tail spoiler and a new light pod at the front which houses four large rally lights. New wheels have also been installed and are wrapped in Michelin off -road tires, ensuring that the car can manage the most difficult terrain.

The largest upgrade is the suspension. It now consists of fully active tractive shock absorbers providing adaptive depreciation and hydraulic adjustment of the driving height. In its lowest frame, the RS-7 has 6.6 inches (170 mm) of soil clearance, and in its highest adjustment, it amounts to 8.2 inches (210 mm). A new rear rear differential differential has also been added, promising to have a transformative effect on how the car rolls.

The protection of the aluminum sub-body is helped to protect the main mechanical components of 911. Larger air intakes have also been installed, to ensure that nothing overheated while attacking a delicate terrain speed.

The cabin is also rather special. New Recaro CS Sportter seats have been installed and the original audio system has been abandoned to gain weight. A new screen has also been added to the central console, allowing adjustments on the fly of the suspension.
