  • Ice agents said that a driver has swerved to them, but the images tell another story.
  • It shows the driver who passes the agents with a large space, contradicting ICE’s assertions.
  • Police took the driver’s side after examining images, rejecting the quotation of the ice.

On January 26, ICE agents from Salt Lake City asked for accelerated assistance from local police after arresting an American citizen for allegedly conducted themselves to them during a traffic stop. However, after the interaction video sequences have surfaced, the police seemed to line up on the side of the involved driver.

The whole incident occurred on the rue S 900 E while Brandon Colin, 20, left Walmart. While he withdrew on the road, he noticed that the ice agents holding a woman stopped on the side of the road. By driving by the agents, Colin horny and would have tried to hit them. At least, that’s what the agents claimed.

Allegations of glacial agents VS video evidence

“This gentleman here decided to try to emerge the sides (my partner) had to withdraw from the way,” said one of the police officers. It was after the agents hunted Colin and withdrew him from his car under the threat of a weapon. The police asked what the agents hoped would happen and they replied that they hoped that the police “would do something”.

In the end, the unified police clearly told the ice agents that there was only one way to follow. Since the police have not seen the crime, the agents should sign legally binding affidavits on what happened. Two of the three agents involved refused to do so, which prompted the police to examine local surveillance images for a clearer image of what really happened.

The driver’s side of history

Video evidence confirmed that Colin had exceeded the agents, but he showed that he kept several inches of space between his vehicle and the agents on the side of the road. In fact, the images also confirmed that Volkswagen de Colin was well away from the adjacent cycle path, which makes it very unlikely that he had a swerve to the agents as they had claimed.

“During the interaction, the driver, who appeared emotional,” expressed his distress in the face of the alleged threats made by ice agents. He admitted that he had shouted and kissing against the agents but denied deviating them towards them, “said the unified police.

The department continued to say to Fox 13 “The images did not show that the driver was moving towards ice agents. Following this examination, UPD rejected the quotation issued to the driver. The update command personnel then contacted the ICE officials to express concerns concerning inaccuracies and inconsistencies in the declarations of their agents. “”

Ice responded to the situation with the following declaration:

“American immigration and the application of customs emphasize integrity and ethical behavior, and the vast majority of ICE employees exercise their functions with professionalism and honor. The ice takes very seriously all the allegations of employees’ misconduct. Any allegation of misconduct is the subject of a survey by the appropriate agencies, and any employee who has committed a pro -vanity fault, will be held responsible. The ice takes rapid and appropriate measures to investigate and cooperate with external organizations of the application of laws when allegations of criminal driving by an employee are suspected or presumed. The ice is unable to comment more. »»

For the moment, it is not clear if consequences will come for the agents involved in the video. We will provide updates as more information becomes available.
