A new brand deposit makes us ask us if the future Lancia roadmap includes a fourth signage plate next to the Ypsilon, Gamma and Delta
–>
- Stellantis has filed a new brand for the Fulvia nickname at the EU intellectual property office.
- The news has revived the hope of a modern revival of Fulvia, similar to the concept of 2003.
- The original Lancia Fulvia was produced between 1963 and 1965 in the form of a coupe and sedans.
The Lancia product roadmap is in full swing, the recent launch of the Ypsilon market paving the way for a new gamma crossover in 2026 and the highly anticipated revival in 2028. However, a recent brand deposit by Stellantis in Europe has rekindled Discussions on another abandoned model – emblematic Fulvia.
According to the Office of Intellectual Property of the European Union (Euipo), Stellantis has the exclusive right to stick the name Fulvia in “motorized vehicles to be used on earth”. The new request was filed on January 30 and the brand is active from February 5.
Plus: 2026 Lancia Gamma will also offer a hybrid after the course of Stellantis changes
Although it is common for car manufacturers to renew the marks of names used in the older and abandoned models, Lancia fans surely hope that there are more in this story.
The Lancia Fulvia was produced between 1963 and 1976 in variants of sedan and coupe, the latter being largely considered one of the most beautiful cars in the history of the automaker. Quick advance until 2003, Lancia brought back the Fulvia coupe in the form of a concept, generating an enthusiastic response from the public and the press.
Concept of Lancia Fulvia 2003
The rolling prototype was built on the FWD chassis derived from Punto from the Fiat Barchetta Roadster, powered by a 4 -cylinder engine of 1.8 liters naturally. Despite the humble foundations, the light two -door coupe had a completely redesigned aluminum body, combined with premium materials inside the cabin.
Unfortunately, Lancia abandoned the plans for a small production of the coupe, which finally put the project. Rumors on a Fulvia renewal resurfaced in 2008, this time linked to the platform of Alfa Romeo Brera, but these hopes never materialized.
Plus: 2027 Alfa Romeo Giulia will be a crossover, abandoning its sedan roots
As much as we would like to see a real fulvia renewal, the chances that Lancia develops a dedicated coupe remains thin. If Stellantis intends to breathe new life in the name of Fulvia, it is much more likely to appear on a SUV or a crossover, aligning with current market trends.
For the moment, we will closely monitor all the developments, eager to see if the Fulvia is actually considered behind the closed doors of the European headquarters of Stellantis.
