- The driver of the GT-R had a radar detector, but he did not alert him to the officer.
- A classic Canadian fashion, the police deposited the driver in a nearby Tim Hortons.
- The Nissan was seized seven days after the driver was timed at 93 MPH.
A YouTuber in Canada found himself without his Nissan GT-R strongly modified after the police entered the car for an excessive speed in an area of 90 km / h (56 mph) in Lantzville, British Columbia. In addition to losing his superb Japanese supercar for a week, he also received a fine of turnover of $ 368 (~ $ 250).
The incident took place on February 2 at around 6 p.m. when an undeveloped officer with the British Columbia Highway Patrol heard a strong engine roar from a stop fire on the highway 19. Feeling that someone had fun A little too much, the officer seized his laser speed reader and timed the GT-R reaching 150 km / h (93 MPH) in the 90 km / h zone.

The driver probably had no idea that the police were on him because the GT-R had been equipped with a radar detector. Unbeknownst to him, “a laser reader will not be recovered by a detector until it is too late”, according to Corporal Michael McLaughlin of British Columbia.
It is not clear if the GT-R in question has significant mechanical changes, but it has been equipped with a multitude of visual updates. For example, there is a new luminous pod inspired by the rally on the hood, yellow LED lights and a roof grid carrying a large cage. The Nissan is also on a set of spare wheels and has an imposing rear wing.
“The driver of Nissan GT-R, who identified himself as a YouTube influencer, has never seen the unmarked police car, and it was surprised that his radar detector remained silent,” added the McLaughlin Corporal .
Rather than fighting, the driver and his passenger cooperated with the police. After the car was towed, the police even gave them an elevator to a Tim Hortons nearby to wait until his mother came to pick him up, because sometimes influencers need a return home.
