- Rivian opened its orders for its electrical delivery van.
- Two different versions are available and the price starts at $ 79,900.
- The vans have 315 hp as well as a range up to 161 miles.
If the silent whirlwind of an Amazon delivery vehicle excites you, you are lucky because Rivian has started to sell their commercial van to fleet customers. This is an interesting development because Amazon originally had an exclusivity agreement with Rivian.
With the agreement now completed, customers can order Rivian 500 delivery and delivery 700. The first starts at $ 79,900 and measures 248.5 inch (6,312 mm) long. It has a loading capacity of 487 cubic feet (13,790 liters) and can accommodate useful loads up to 2,663 lb (1,208 kg).
Plus: Rivian will produce fleet vehicles for AT&T
The 700 delivery is similar, but starts at $ 83,900 and measures 278 inch (7,061 mm) long. Thanks to the additional length, the loading capacity increases to 652 cubic feet (18,463 liters), while the payload rating falls to 2,258 lb (1,024 kg).
The two vans have a 100 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery which supplies an engine mounted before producing 315 hp (235 kW / 320 PS) and 299 LB-PI (405 nm) of torque. This gives them a range of around 160 miles (257 km). When it is time to recharge, you wait because the vans have a DC fast load capacity which is maximum at 100 kW.
Buyers will find a fairly basic cabin with a group of 12.3 -inch digital instruments and an infotainment system of 15.4 inch. They are joined by a heated and cooled driver’s seat as well as a front passenger jump seat.
Since the Rivian commercial van was designed to be one of the safest vehicles on the road, it is delivered with a long list of driver’s assistance systems. These include the adaptive cruise control, the alert to the blind spot and the speed limit information. The model also has labor aid, a lane starting warning, automatic emergency braking, a front collision warning, transversal traffic warning and bundle aid. To complete the strengths, a camera on Surround, an emergency alert system and aid by Surround Park.
Tours cost more than the Bright-Drop range from Chevy and offer much less. However, Tom Salomon de Rivian noted that “Amazon is currently more than 20,000 in its fleet and delivered more than a billion plans … in 2024 only.” He added: “We are delighted to be able to open sales to fleets of all sizes in the United States, whether they want 1 van or thousands.”
