- Volvo brought his cross-country badge to the Little EX 30 Electric SUV.
- The off -road theme adds a clearance to the ground and protective plates.
- Cross-country options include a harder roof basket and all-terrain tires.
More than a quarter of a century ago, the Cross-Country badge of Volvo helped him fill the gap between cars like the V70 and the SUVs in its range was missing. But now, for the first time with the ex30 Volvo, has associated a SUV and the cross-country label, bringing an additional attitude to its baby EV.
Volvo does not claim the most recent ex30 in any way revolutionizes off -road vehicles. Most people will buy the cross-country for its appearance, which is much more macho than the original SUV. You get small black plastic arc extensions, a black panel on the back and another on the nose which has a first aid of the Kebnekaise mountains in Sweden. There is also a cross-country call on assembly C instead of the usual ex30 script.

But even if this new variant aims mainly to stand out in the city, it is not entirely without substance. You get an unpertured quantity of additional soil clearance, protection slight -up slippage plates, and the 19 -inch standard wheels can be exchanged for 18 -inch versions wrapped in off -road rubber if you select the “ package `Cross Country Experience ”.
The other options included in this package include the front and rear mud shutters, black load carriers and a roof basket that looks great, but which is sure to eat in the Volvo of 265 miles (427 km) claims that cross-country gets its 69 kWh battery. This range is, to avoid verification, already down 280 miles (450 km), and there is also a performance penalty to pay.
The only powertrain available at launch is the most efficient configuration of the regular ex30, a 422 hp bi-motor case (428 PS / 315 kW). Volvo cites 3.7 seconds to 62 MPH (100 km for), which is a tenth slower than the same configuration of the engine in the variant of non-cross country.

Volvo has not explicitly excluded from the expansion of the range of cross-country engines in the future, it is therefore possible that it can offer the model with the unique electric motor 272 HP (275 PS / 200 kW) Available for other ex30 buyers, although the absence of all- wheel drive would really undermine the credibility of the cross-country package.
Cross country is only available in the most chic of the ex30, the most chic that brings goodies like a panoramic roof, a pilot assistant and a 360 -degree camera. One of them currently costs £ 42,350 in the United Kingdom and $ 47,895 in the United States, and you can expect your cross-country off-road cover kit adding at least one big one.
