Porsche could use the Rédessiné Q5 as the basis of a new gas macan
–>
- Porsche seems to test the new Audi Q5, which made its debut last fall.
- The SUV could serve as a basis for Ice Macan for the new generation of Porsche.
- The current Macan shares its roots with the original Q5, with significant changes.
Audi introduced the Q5 redrawn last fall, so it is a little surprising that spy photographers recently caught a prototype undergoing tests in cold weather. However, there seems to be more in the situation that does not respond to the eye.
As you can see, the Q5 is the strange man because it was part of a larger group of Porsche tests which included the Cayenne EV and a 911. Spy photographers also said that those around the Boxster included a boxster and a Macan.
Plus: gas macan on the table while Porsche rethinks electric vehicles
Given this, it is quite clear that the Q5 is tested by Porsche and not Audi. This is where things become a little troubled because the spy photographers claim that the Q5 will constitute the basis of the new generation Macan. This would make sense because the first generation model has more than decade and was closely linked to the original Q5.
While Porsche recently introduced the Electric Macan, the company has realized that the adoption of electric vehicles occurs more slowly than expected and many customers want petrol energy. This recently prompted them to announce a “extension of the product portfolio to include additional vehicle models with combustion engines or rechargeable hybrids”.
SHPROSHOTS / CARSCOOPS
The company has not developed, but it was initially believed that the EV variants – like the next boxer – would be modified to accommodate additional powertrain. However, this may not be the case because it would be an entirely separate vehicle.
Things are still quite misty at this stage, but the Q5 appears in stock. However, if it is indeed a Macan mule, we can expect to see changes in the future as well as complete prototypes in the months and years to come. This suggests that the model is quite far, but the basis of crossing on an existing vehicle could speed up development and reduce costs.
We take things with a grain of salt, but the Q5 redesigned rises on the new combustion of premium platform and benefits from light hybrid technology. In Europe, there are 2.0 -liter TFSI and TDI engines with 201 CH (150 kW / 204 PS) as well as a 3.0 -liter TFSI V6 pumping 362 hp (270 kW / 367 PS). The three are associated with a seven -speed double clutch transmission and a gentle hybrid system which can contribute 24 hp (18 kW / 24 PS) for short periods.
