These two supercars of America and Italy share a form of corner, an unreal performance, but few others

- The Corvette Z06 and the Maserati MC20 Cielo just clashed in an intense US race.
- The results are surprising given the massive price difference between these two supercars.
- They also prove that car performance is more accessible than ever.
Two of the most beautiful supercars in the world just faced the head in a U-Drag race. The Maserati MC20 Cielo and the Chevrolet C8 Corvette Z06 have a serious power, an exotic style and the ability to exceed 200 MPH (320 km / h). In this competition, they drag the race before having to turn around as quickly as possible and return to the original starting line. The winner is decisive in the two races organized here.
The Maserati MC 20 Cielo enters the fight with 621 horsepower (463 kW) and 538 lb-pi (728 nm) of torque at its disposal from a 3.0-liter V6 with double turbocharger. These figures are interesting because the Corvette tightens them. It has more power, 670 hp (499 kW), but less torque, 460 lb-ft (622 nm). Each one uses an automatic double clutch gearbox with eight speeds and a rear traction.

Large differences are in the form of weight and price. The Maserati tips the scale to just over 4,000 pounds (1,814 kg), while the Chevrolet weighs only 3,715 pounds (1,685 kg). In addition, you pay more, in fact much more for the Maserati than for the Corvette. The Italian in this fight costs $ 371,450. The corvette is a modest (really extending the meaning of this word here) $ 147,800.

In both races, the MC20 is struggling to match the launch of the Corvette. This gap makes a huge difference throughout the race while the corvette enters the braking area faster, arrives faster, then wins each race without too much fight. The Z06 even extends the gap on the right back of the race. Also keep in mind that the pilots of each car change between the races.
It is true, the American supercar which costs less than half of the Italian who smoked it – not once, but twice – in the hands of different drivers. In particular, the Maserati had a few things that could have retained it. First of all, it works on bridgestone tires, which are not as well considered as the Michelins on the corvette. Second, don’t forget the considerable weight penalty.
I hope that we will have the chance to see this same race, but with the fixed MC20 which weighs almost exactly the same as the Z06. Could the results be different in this case? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
