Honda finished fifth with a market share of 9.4%, but they have reasons to celebrate because they were the SUV brand with the fastest growth last year. This was largely due to the popularity of the CR-V, the HR-V and the pilot.

Speaking of popular models, the redesigned Chevrolet Trax was a huge success. He experienced the greatest gain in market share and was the 15th best -selling vehicle in America. Of course, one of the biggest stories of the year was the fall of the Ford F-150. Despite a facelift, sales fell 5% to 460,915 units. This allowed the Toyota Rav4 to become the best -selling vehicle in America with sales of 475,193 units.

Electric vehicles and rechargeable hybrids have continued to gain popularity while car manufacturers have added more options to their ranges. EV sales increased by 12%, while rechargeable hybrids jumped 39%.

On the other hand, sales of ice vehicles dropped 0.6% to 12.05 million units. This is a small drop, but the market share powered by ice has dropped below 80%.
