  • Kia’s PV5 electric pick-up will probably offer configurations to a single engine.
  • The truck is designed for commercial customers, meeting the needs of companies.
  • He will use the Kia E-CCPM platform, although technical details are not disclosed.

The world will soon receive its first detailed overview of the Kia PV5 van on February 27. But even before the official beginnings, the spy blows surfaced an unexpected variant, which could shake the commercial market for electric vehicles. While Kia has so far teased only the versions of van and passenger van, this prototype reveals a small flat truck. It seems that Kia aims to cover all the bases with her new EV family.

This disguised prototype was broken during the current winter tests in Europe. Although the front has been protected from sight, it seems largely identical to the Van of PV5 versions. Kia engineers have hidden distinctive LED day lights, but the main headlights positioned lower on the fascia are visible.

In addition, we can see that the prototype has the same small hood of the van, identical wing mirrors and the same small corner windows behind the A. The familiar design continues on the side with the same doors and side windows than the van. However, while the PV5 models that Kia has already revealed are vans, this prototype abandons the rear cabin in favor of a large bed.

Clearly designed with commercial customers in mind, this PV5 has a cage behind the front cabin and a bed that seems to have at least five feet long. It stretches far beyond the line of the rear axle and looks practical enough for anyone who will need an EV to luggish large loads.

We know that all KIA PV5 models will be supported by the full chassis platform module platform (E-CCPM) of the brand. However, Kia did not provide important technical details on the EV, including the size of the battery and the power it will have. We suspect that the entry -level models will be based on a small electric motor at the front axle, while other versions could also have an electric motor at the rear.
