The Rivian headlights are among the most distinctive of the company. The problem is that the lamps on certain examples of 2025 do not fulfill their main obligation to help drivers to see and be seen. Consequently, the automaker remembers more than 17,000 examples of its two R1 models.
The problem lies in the headlight lights on the R1T truck and the R1S SUV, which may not wake up when the owners try to start their electric vehicles in cold weather. Rivian has traced the problem with incorrectly configured parts provided during manufacturing and adjusted on vehicles produced between April 29, 2024 and February 3, 2025.
