After a teaser last month, Morgan revealed that his successor plus six will be called the Supersport. The model will be unveiled on March 11 during a live broadcast hosted by Richard Hammond.
The event begins at 10:50 a.m. GMT and will take place in the workshops of the company in the Worcestershire. Morgan will also organize a simultaneous launch event at the Louwman museum in the Netherlands. The latter is home to more than 275 vehicles, including an Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B 2900B 1941 Corsa Sperimental Balena, which was found in pieces in a room in Buenos Aires.
Plus: Morgan’s new flagship product has three wipers and a BMW engine
Morgan keeps details under Wraps, but previously confirmed that supersport will drive on a new aluminum platform linked to CXV. It is an evolution of their previous architecture and customers can expect a more rigid chassis as well as a reduction in weight.
The power supply will be provided by a six -cylinder turbocharged six -cylinder engine from BMW. Little is known about this at this stage, but the most six had a 3.0-liter Turbo Turbo Turbo-Turbo producing 335 hp (250 kW / 340 PS) and 369 LB-PI (500 Nm) of torque. It was connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission and this allowed the car to accelerate from 0 to 62 MPH (0-100 km / h) in 4.2 seconds, before touching a top speed of 166 MPH (267 km / h).
On the style of the style, there is not much to point out, because the last teasers only reveal the nickname Supersport and the double exhaust system. That being said, the rear appears much more modern and rationalized than the most six.
Despite this, the car will always be recognizable as Morgan thanks to its design of retro inspiration. However, the company aims at “a more contemporary aesthetic and aerodynamic proportion”.
