Daihatsu has updated the Kei Hijet truck for 2025 with additional safety characteristics in order to comply with regulations. Although the outdoor and interior design was postponed from the IJet of 11th generation which made its debut at the end of 2021, which caught our attention is the pure volume of different body style variants available in Japan.
Despite its tiny imprint, the hijet is a versatile LCV that meets the needs of all kinds of professionals thanks to its modular freight area. If we add the hijet truck closely linked, the hijet cargo van and the atrai passenger van, the range includes no less than 26 variants.

The hijet can be contained in standard, high -end and jumbo (extensive cabin), as well as “specially equipped” cabin “with unique rear accessories. The level of specialization is that the “series of discharges” includes four variations, namely the versatile dumping ground, the road dumping ground, the dumping ground of soil and sand and the cleaning dump, each with a slightly different hydraulic bed .

The power is transmitted to the rear or four wheels via an electronic 4×4 system with an optional differential locking function, while there is a choice between a five -speed manual and a CVT.

The cheapest version of the Daihatsu Hijet with a single cabin, a standard bed, a rear traction and a manual gearbox begins at 1,028,500 yen yen ($ 6,900). At the other end of the spectrum, the most expensive is the hijet freezer which costs ¥ 2,667,500 ($ 17,900) when equipped with the 4×4 system and the CVT gearbox.
Daihatsu admits that prices should be increased compared to last year due to “the outbreak of raw material prices and other factors”.
Of course, the hijet is not the only Kei truck with many configurations. The Suzuki Carry, Super Carry and each van are available in a similar variety of statutes, posing as the main rivals of the little daihatsus in Japan.
