  • Tesla plans to file a complaint against those who damage or vandalize its charging stations.
  • The owners are faced with acts of vandalism similar to their own private electric vehicles.
  • The automaker may need to intervene to help reduce the heat felt by its customers.

“We will pay vandalism costs among super-chargers,” says Tesla. These are the first words of a car manufacturer dealing with a series of problems, including protests, material damage, etc. What is worse is that the brand can do nothing for countless owners who have also suffered from the trend. This includes at least a degraded cybertruck at the bottom of Manhattan with a swastika.

The last months have seen anger grow against Elon Musk and the electric brand he directs. Customers and criticisms have opened – and loudly – called for the public to abandon Tesla’s cars. In addition to this, radical activists have threatened the owners and Vandalized vehicles as well as the compressor stations. On Sunday, an owner of Tesla found her local charging station with the word “Nazi” painted on the Tesla logo and a swastika symbol below.

“This graffiti to my local compressor would suggest that Elon Musk may damage Tesla’s brand,” wrote the poster. In just three hours, the Tesla compressor’s official account saw the job and replied, declaring that the graffiti would be deleted by the next morning. In fact, it went even further.

When another speaker underlined a security camera that could have captured the vandal in the law, Tesla clearly indicated that he would pay costs for such behavior. In fact, it was the second case of vandalism he responded in last week. In another case, someone sprayed the foam in the load caps in several overeating stations.

Target more than Tesla property

There is a separate problem, however, because the vandals not only target Tesla property but also private vehicles. We do not know who has the Cybertruck recently painted with a swine cross at Lower Manhattan, but many people have seen the vehicle and posted on this online. A person simply subtitled his post: “Not a large car to have in New York these days.”

The wires on the angular pick-up attracted a mixture of sinister humor and political comments, including “Look, this is the new SS package” and “it keeps the eyes from the gaps of the panel”.

The humor was dark, but the implications were serious. No matter what you can feel about Musk or Tesla, it seems that the wave of anger towards one or both increases. A recent survey clearly indicated that the popularity of Musk has tilted wildly on one side from the aisle to the other in the past year. Although Musk and Tesla can be well in their rights, there is no doubt at this stage that the public perception changes.

The musk effect on the brand of Tesla

Since Donald Trump’s administration as Donald Trump administer as a main advisor to the Department of Government Effectiveness (DOGE), Musk has become an increasingly polarizing figure. His controversial statements, his links perceived to the extreme right ideologies and his alleged moments of dog dogs have fueled strong reactions which make certain criticisms maintain that Tesla’s brand suffers not because of her cars but because of her CEO.

Cybertruck degradation and compressor vandalism highlight the volatile intersection of technology, politics and the perception of the public. With Musk at the helm, Tesla is not only an EV company – it is a symbol in an increasingly divided conversation. One thing is clear, however: the speech around Tesla and Musk does not seem to refresh itself anytime soon.
