The Insane all-terrain is powered by a 418 hp V8 and has selective position shock absorbers

Earlier this year, Ford CEO Jim Farley said he wanted the brand to become “the Porsche of the Tout-Terrain”, and all the models launched by the Blue Oval in recent years, none reflects this mission more than the Bronco Desert Racer, also known as DR.
Unveiled a few years ago, Bronco DR is essentially a production version of Ford’s Baja Racer and was capped at only 50 units. It is not legal on the street, but it may be the ultimate off-road toy for those who are not satisfied with an ordinary Bronco. Next month, Mecum Auctions will sell one of the most striking Bronco DRS built.

This example is bathed in a shiny shade of satin blue, which looks absolutely superb. Like all the others, it rolls on unique wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich tires and includes the Baja package of $ 38,000. This adds a spare wheel, a double battery, a huge led light bar on the roof, a new grille bar, a mermaid and rocky lights.
There is no mention of the number of kilometers of this Bronco DR to his credit, but he looks so virgin that taking it off the road and dirtying it would be almost unfortunate. However, this thing was designed to jump over the rocks and accelerate through sand dunes, it is therefore better to be driven in hard environments than to sit in a garage.
Like all Bronco DR models, this example is powered by a 5.0 -liter COYOTE V8 producing 418 hp. It is also equipped with selective multimatical positioning DEBUSTS, which means that it has 15.8 inch (400 mm) travel at the front and 17.4 inches (443 mm) at the rear.
Dr.’s cabin sold by Mecum shares very little in common with an ordinary Bronco. It has a new sparco steering wheel and a personalized dashboard that abandons the original gauge cluster and the infotainment screen for a single MOTEC screen. There is also a complete cage and Recaro Racing seats with harnesses.
So, if the hardcore all-terrain is your thing, you may want to bid on this Dr Bronco which should cross the auction block on March 22. Keep in mind that, given the fairly steep pdsfs when it was new, its limited race and the aforementioned baja package, it will cost you a pretty penny.
