- The KIA EV2 concept shows the vision of the automaker for a future electric B-SUV.
- The little EV has an elegant exterior and a futuristic cabin focused on practicality.
- The production version will arrive in 2026, available in Europe and other regions.
Kia extends its range with new electric offers covering a wider spectrum of segments. The last to join the party is the Kia EV2, a small electric SUV which should make its debut in 2026 focused on European markets. The EV2 was introduced in the form of a concept during the KIA EV 2025 day in Barcelona, giving us an excellent idea of what to expect the next production version.
The EV2 concept shows “the vision of the brand for a future electric SUV of segment B”. The zero emission equivalent of the Stonton will be the smallest member of the KIA EV range, at least until the start of the Kia EV1 the size of a picanto at a given time in the future.
Plus: the PV5 ready for Kia’s road looks like a concept from last year
The compact imprint of the Kia EV2 which is smaller than the EV3 means that it will target the lower end of the segment, which will target the competition with the Jeep Avenger and the Mini Aceman. The exterior of the concept is characterized by cheeky proportions and modern style clues such as quad headlights, robust plastic coating, tonic wings and low -rise rear lights.
EV2 production should look much like the concept, although with some toned characteristics. Judging by the previous offers of Kia, we expect the final design to have thicker pillars, larger mirrors and flush door handles.
The concept has a cabin with four futuristic places by emphasizing the practical aspect. The rear-suicide doors, the lack of central pillars and the flat floor offer easy access. By folding the rear seats and sliding the front bench back, the occupants can relax, stretch their legs or sit on the ground when the vehicle is parked.
The other interesting features include the triangular portable speakers on the doors, the wireless charger on the lower part of the dashboard, the contextual luggage separators and the lighting of messages on the side windows to communicate with other road users. Naturally, some of these elements will not go to production, suicide doors and window lighting being the main candidates to abandon in the road version.
Plus: New Mini Aceman EV is large in space, small
Although Kia has not announced the technical specifications of the EV2, the production model will most likely rise on a shorter version of the E-GMP architecture. The SUV should be available with a single electric motor and a smaller battery compared to the slightly larger EV3, which allows it to be more affordable.
The president and chief executive officer of Kia, Ho Sung Song, promised that the EV2 will offer technology and practice “beyond its size”, adding that it would support its objective of “making electric vehicles really accessible to everyone”.
The EV2 is expected to be estimated at around € 30,000 ($ 31,400) in Europe upon arrival in 2026. Kia said it will also be on sale in “other regions” without going into details. However, do not expect to see the EV2 in North America, unlike the EV3 and EV4 which should be available in the United States.
