If you thought the era of the wagon was over, think again. Audi has unveiled a new generation of the A6 before, and he is there to face the BMW 5 Series Touring and Mercedes E-Class Estate. The ice brother at the new A6 e -tron sport Awards, also has sharper looks, packs the latest technologies and promises to offer a “first class” travel experience – whether or not you have the chance to sit on the driver’s headquarters.

At first, Audi was dead By calling for this generation, A7 before, to make it clear that it was an animal different from the A6 e-tron. But after a creation of a frantic last minute soul (and probably some meeting crises), they decided to stick to the name A6 classic. This is the automotive equivalent of “if it is not broken, do not repair it”, even if it means confusing anyone who thought that the A7 was going to be the essential sports car.

Now that we have erased this, let’s dive into the strengths of the new A6 before, that Audi boasts as an “important model” in their range.

1. The Audi before the most aerodynamic ice of all time

One thing you cannot deny about the A6 before is that it has a very fluid profile. It is not your average square cart; Audi made sure that the new A6 front is the long -term rooftop model of the brand’s brand, offering a 0.25 CD draft coefficient. For the context, the only Audi wagon which beats it is the electricity A6 e-tron before, which descends to a CD of 0.24 still impressive.

The most elegant form is not only for looks (however, it looks fairly clear, even if Audi does not seem to escape its habit of greatly borrowing design indices from its own range). The characteristics that contribute to the low drag include air curtains, the intake of active bumpers, an important diffuser, a roof spoiler and an aerodynamic garnish on the rear glass, which is now more inclined than before. The new A6 advantage is also 60 mm (2.4 inch) longer than its predecessor, extending to 4,990 mm (196.5 inches).

In addition to increasing efficiency, the redesigned silhouette of the A6 before makes it more visually attractive, with carved rear shoulders and aggressive LEDs with digital lighting technology. The only drawback? People could confuse it with the smallest A5, itself replacing the A4, thanks to the frontal design which is almost a carbon copy. This could be a problem, but we are sure that Audi will only do it to the “brand synergy” or another business appearance.

2. Audi promises “first class” trips

Audi makes daring affirmations on the A6 front, saying that she offers “first -class trips like no other vehicle in her class”, a sentence that definitively resembles marketing fluff. However, they have in fact thrilled certain legitimate luxury features to support the complaint, although you can pay a supplement for the full experience.

The new A6 front is built on the PPC (Premium Platform Bobustion) architecture, which made its debut in the A5 family from last year. It offers an optional adaptive air suspension, described as combining sportiness and comfort by adjusting body height and shock absorption. In addition to this “advanced” suspension technology, the platform can be equipped with a full direction and a quattro sport differential (on AWD versions).

Plus: 2025 BMW i5 and 5-series Touring start with Big Boot and up to 593 hp

In addition, all the garnishes are standard with a progressive direction, supposed to offer more direct comments than before. Combined with the more rigid chassis and the coachbuilding slightly increased on the front axle, this configuration promotes an improvement in the management response and a more engaging feedback.

Another key element of “first class travel experience” is the technology and spacious cabin. The protruding facts include a digital cockpit with up to three screens, an adjustable panoramic glass roof, a premium bang & olufsen audio system and an automatic four -zone climate.

3. It offers slightly electrified gas and diesel engines

In accordance with the renewed commitment of the VW group to combustion engines, the new A6 front will offer a choice of petrol and diesel powertrain. These include four -cylinder petrol of 2.0 TFSI and four -cylinder Diesel 2.0 TDI, both producing an identical 201 HP (150 kW / 204 PS). There is also the most powerful 3.0 TFSI six.0 TFSI fuel engine, exceeding 362 hp (270 kW / 367 PS). Interestingly, despite the sharing of the engine with the S5, this version does not win the S6 badge.

Plus: VW and Audi could continue to sell ice models in Europe beyond 2033

All these engines benefit from a light hybrid configuration. The MHEV Plus system includes a 48 -volt battery, a belt alternator starter and an electrical engine / generator. At full speed, the electric motor can provide 24 hp (18 kW / 24 PS) and 230 Nm (170 LB-PI) of torque, while using the braking energy to recharge the small battery. According to Audi, this configuration allows the A6 before driving only on electrical energy during low -speed maneuvers, such as parking or ramp of city traffic.

Although Audi has not yet announced other motorcycle group options, it is expected that hybrid plug-in versions of the A6 will be available in the future.

4. A6 Sedan, A6 Allroad and RS6 coming soon

Audi may have launched things with the A6 before, but the A6 family is about to grow a lot. The traditional four -door sedan will always be part of the range, continuing its rivalry with the BMW 5 Series and the E -Class Mercedes.

Plus: 2026 Audi A6 Allroad is an old -fashioned luxury crossing

In addition, the wagon will obtain an A6 Allroad version with a raised position and crossover style signals. Finally and above all, the RS6 advantage focused on performance will return for another generation, although it can abandon the V8 engine in favor of a rechargeable hybrid V6.

Our spy photographers have already caught camouflaged prototypes of all these upcoming models, so we have a good idea of what is going on.

5. It is actually cheaper than his predecessor

Audi began to accept orders from the new A6 before in Europe. In Germany, the basic model with the light hybrid petrol engine is price of € 58,000 ($ 61,200), or € 1,900 ($ 2,000) cheaper than the outgoing front price A6. For comparison, the smallest A5 before starts at € 46,850 ($ 49,300) on the same market.

Plus: the new Audi A5 costs $ 3,600 more than the A4 that it replaces

The first deliveries of the Audi A6 before are scheduled for the end of May. Unfortunately, for those of us who appreciate a good wagon, it does not seem that this model will go to North America. Instead, the alternatives closest to Audi here are the Q5 and Q5 Sportback. Hoping that Audi will at least bring the next RS6 in the United States, just as they did with the previous generation.
