- Genesis will sell the GV90 with standard and rear rear doors.
- We do not know if all the markets will obtain the doors of the coach displayed here.
- The new Genesis EV can use the same 110 kWh battery as the Hyundai Ioniq 9.
Our spy photographers broke the electric GV90 undergoing winter tests in Europe last month, the prototype appearing quite conventional, largely resembling other models of Genesis. However, a much more intriguing tester has just been broken in South Korea, equipped with rear suicide doors.
The red prototype in question was spotted at the back of a tray under a lot of camouflage and coating. He balances sporty black wheels unlike other prototypes that we have seen in the past, and Genesis had done a better job to cover part of the body, he may have hidden the fact that he had suicide doors.

The most obvious gift is the door handles at the front of the rear doors, just as you will find on a Phantom Rolls-Royce. Genesis engineers also left part of the opening mechanism in the midst.
As we have now seen the GV90 tests with conventional rear doors and these coach doors, it seems inevitable that the two options are available. What is not clear is if the suicide doors will be an option throughout the GV90 range or if they may only be available on the most luxurious finish level. We also do not know if all the markets will receive the option of these doors, but we suspect that certain major markets will miss.
Genesis builds the GV90 as a three -row SUV and can offer it in configurations at six and seven places. A six places, with a pair of captain’s chairs in the second row, could be the perfect candidate for suicide doors.
All GV90 models will be the proven E-GMP platform of the Hyundai Motor Group group, just like the Hyundai Ioniq 9 and Kia EV9, with which the GV90 will share many components. It can be standard with the same 110 kWh battery that Hyundai and Carscoops suspect that all versions will be sold with twin electric motors and a standard all -wheel drive.
