The image is aligned with the recent Teasers of Volvo, revealing a large and rather large profile design, supplemented by the characteristic frontal seen in the last electric vehicles of Volvo. Volvo is preparing for the launch of the brand new ES90 entirely electric which will take place on March 5. The sedan defined by software will be the most powerful Volvo of all time in terms of basic computer capacity, and promises to offer a prament of more than 700 km (435 miles). Meanwhile, the company also updates the S90 sedan, ensuring that an ice option remains available alongside the new EV.
After the original teaser of last year, Volvo shared additional photos of ES90, revealing an unconventional rear light arrangement at the rear. Despite the three classic sedan silhouette, the EV has additional LEDs on the sides of the rear telescope, completing the main rear lights in the traditional position.

The previous teasers presented the elegant roof line of ES90, the familiar greenhouse, the shower door handles and a lidar mounted on the roof. The front should look like the ex90, with Volvo’s “Thor’s Hammer” LED headlights.
Longer and faster load beach
Volvo has confirmed that ES90 will be equipped with an 800 volts system, which gives it the longest range and the fastest charging times among its EV range.
In addition to offering an estimated WLTP range of more than 700 km (435 miles), the ES90 battery will be compatible with a load of 350 kW and include new battery management software. Consequently, it will be able to gain 300 km (186 miles) of range in just 10 minutes of load, while a load of 10 to 80% will be completed in 20 minutes.

Volvo also mentioned that the electric motors will be lighter, without going into the details of the combined power.
In terms of sustainability, ES90 will use recycled and natural materials in its production. In addition, the company will be transparent about the source of rare metals used in the battery and its carbon footprint.
Advanced tech under the hood
The ES90 is built on the SPA2 architecture already used by the ex90, although the new SPA3 platform will begin with the ex60 in 2026. The electric sedan should be the first highest Volvo in the basic calculation capacity of the NVIDIA brand. This configuration will also be introduced in the ex90, existing customers receiving an additional upgrade.
The system supports AI Active Safety Characteristics and Sensors, contributing to Volvo’s “safe space” technology. In terms of sensor equipment, the ES90 will be equipped with a Lidar, five radars, eight cameras, twelve ultrasonic sensors and a “system of understanding the advanced pilot inside the car”.
As with the SUV linked to mechanics, the electric sedan will include the Volvo Cars Superset technological battery – including the modules of hardware and software – which will ultimately be applied in the entire EV range of the automaker. The software updates will allow ES90 to evolve and improve continuously over time “in the fields of security, connectivity and performance.
The Volvo S90 obtains a facelift
In addition to ES90, Volvo is developing a strongly updated version of the ice sedan, one of the five new products provided for 2025. The disclosed photos reveal a complete overhaul of the front and rear ends, giving the classic model a modern and modern appearance. Originally launched in 2016 with a minor update in 2020, the S90 facelift extends its life cycle as an alternative to the growing electric range of Volvo.
It is not clear if the V90 succession will also receive the new overhaul. Last month, Volvo announced its intention to introduce “significant upgrades” for two of its existing models in 2025, one of which is the recently Lift XC60.
