This is why the maintenance of traction control is a wise idea for all drivers except the most experienced

  • Mercedes-AMG GT R lost control in Vancouver after a power slide on the damp roads.
  • After losing control, the driver crashed into a small tree and a grass embankment.

The Mercedes-AMG GT R is an Anexhilarant sports car, fueled by a formidable Double V8 with 4.0-liter turbocharger driving the rear wheels. However, a boost with the traction control system by driving under wet conditions should be treated with caution. Unfortunately, the driver of this GT R did not obtain the memo.

This incident recently occurred in Vancouver, Canada, where the driver of an AMG GTR moved away from a used car dealer near the island of Granville. Despite the rain, it seems that the driver was impatient to show his driving skills while leaving the midnight competition at the dealership, cutting the back of the car when leaving.

Dashcam images from another motorist initially show that the driver has managed to update the parking lot Mercedes. However, it seems that they continued to keep the foot planted on the accelerator, which resulted in rear kicks of the car on the opposite side. The driver quickly jumped on the brake, but it was already too late.

The AMG GT R crashed in a small slope of grass on the side of the road before stopping. It is difficult to determine the extent of the damage, but an overview of the area on Google Maps shows that the car must have set up a small sidewalk before running the grass, and this can cause an impressive repair quote.

It also seems that the Mercedes went directly to a small tree right next to a large floor lamp. As the accident occurred at relatively slow speeds, damage to the GT R should be repairable. Mercedes-AMG parts are not cheap, and the owner will probably be out of pocket several thousand dollars after their little run-in with the embankment.
