  • Tesla sales in Germany plunged 59.5% in January 2025 and 76.3% in February.
  • In Australia, deliveries from the manufacturer of electric vehicles dropped by 65.5% in the first two months of 2025.
  • Tesla’s February 2025 sales in China dropped by 49.16%, reporting a drop in market share.

Tesla proudly procured less than a year ago that he would sell 20 million electric vehicles per year by 2030. Fast advance until today, and things have made a net slowdown. After having apparently abandoned this high objective in mid-2024, the company also experienced its first annual sales decrease in a decade. Now, Tesla sales continue to slip into several important markets, notably in Germany, Australia and, of course, in China.

Earlier this week, we reported that Tesla sales in Norway collapsed from 44.4% to January and February, despite the country’s overall growth in the country of 53.4%. Things are even worse in Germany. The new KBA data – The Federal Motor Transport Authority from Germany – shows that in January 2025, Tesla sales dropped by 59.5%, with only 1,277 new cars recorded in the country.

The situation only worsened until February. Sales fell 76.3% compared to February 2024, with only 1,429 units sold. Until January and February, Tesla delivered 2,706 vehicles to Germany, marking a massive drop of 70.6% compared to the same period last year. Tesla’s decline is even more pronounced if we consider that the overall sales of Bev in Germany climbed 30.8% in February.

Australian slowdown

Australia is not much better. Data from the country’s electric vehicle council show that Tesla shifted 1,592 vehicles in February, a massive drop of 71.9% compared to the 5,665 sold in February 2024. In the first two months of the year, Tesla delivered 2,331 vehicles to the Australians, a drop of 65.5% compared to the 6.772 vehicles sold in the same two months in 2024.

It should be mentioned that the highly awaited and highly updated model has just started to be sold in Australia, although only in the premium launch variant ($ 73,400), the standard version still unavailable. Thus, the sales crisis is not entirely surprising.

Despite this, the outgoing model saw a decrease of 55.4%, changing only 924 units. Meanwhile, sales of model 3 refreshed are dropped by 81.4% spectacular, with only 668 cars sold. It seems that Australians are not as eager to embrace the “Dream of Tesla” as in the past.

Chinese struggles

And then there is China, where things also seem dark for Tesla on one of its most important markets in the world. The preliminary data of the Chinese association of private cars reveal that Tesla built and sold 30,688 vehicles in February 2025, a drop of 49.16% compared to the 60,365 cars moved in February 2024. This total includes both interior sales and exports, but it is clear that the Chinese market share of Tesla is shrinking. When you take into account the competition from local electric vehicle manufacturers, the image becomes even more troubled.

It is sure to say that Tesla’s global growth trajectory has struck certain roadblocks. While the company remains a leader in the space of electric vehicles, its domination formerly subatchable on the key markets shows signs of distress. Whether it is fatigue of the product, the controversial nature of its CEO, its saturation of the market or simply bad timing – in particular with the transition surrounding its best -selling vehicle, the Y model, the brilliance is definitely starting to dissipate.
