For decades, ABT has been built, adjusted and running some of the wildest European cars on the market, winning a reputation that extends far beyond Germany. But apparently, this fame has its drawbacks, such as attracting a group of thieves who recently decided that it would be an excellent idea to descend in the parking area of the German headquarters in ABT, achieving with around € 300,000 (~ $ 318,000) of parts of several cars.
According to Daniel ABT, seven cars were targeted late at night last Sunday evening. The thieves have not only slipped a few wheels and call it one day. No, they went to a complete surgical mode, hacking cars, stealing their wheels and even removing discs and costly carbon ceramic brakes. The setting brand does not believe that it was the work of amateurs, noting that the power supplies and the lighting around the parking lot were cut, keeping their criminal activities hidden in the shade.

A photo shared by the company’s CCO on Liendin shows one of the Audi RS6 blackened from Abt sitting on bricks after his wheels and brakes were taken. Although it is not clear what other cars have been targeted, it is prudent to assume that thieves have opted for the most precious options in the lot. After all, the forged wheels are very precious, just like the carbon ceramic brakes, and there is a good chance that thieves have already sold many pieces or exported them abroad, which means that they will probably be very difficult to find.
According to the Tuning House and the race team, local authorities are investigating the flight. But, according to his sounds, ABT’s security measures have left something to be desired. Daniel ABT confirmed that the company “would definitively revise our concept of security” in the light of thefts.
Unfortunately, wheel flights occur around the world.
