If you have a weakness for European sedans, you will probably remember the Volvo S80. But what happens if we told you that there was a version of the S80 so rare, you should be a Swedish initiate just to find one? Enter the Volvo S80 Nilsson 300, such an exclusive car, you might need a monocle just to look at it. And now, one of them is on sale in Sweden.
Do not confuse the Nilsson 300 with the Volvo S80L based on long wheels offered in China, because, a spoiler alert, the S80L was not an official Volvo product. Instead, the Nilsson 300 was manufactured by Nilsson special vehicles, a Swedish company which is more used to the construction of ambulances, emergency vehicles, learning and limousines than to make current sedans.

According to Bilweb Auctions, only 16 of these cars have been manufactured, and this is number 2 in the series. Fortunately, it packs the largest engine option available: a 4.4 -liter V8, built in Japan by Yamaha with Volvo specifications. This engine exceeds 311 horsepower (232 kW / 315 PS) and 440 Nm (325 LB -PI) of torque – and, of course, it comes standard with all -wheel drive.
The wheelbase of this individual 300 has been extended by 15 cm (5.9 inches), although we have spotted even longer versions in the photos. Be that as it may, Swedish limousine is a clear star of an ordinary S80, thanks to the partition between the front and rear doors.

Comfort adapted to Swedish royalty
Inside, rear passengers are entitled to a generous leg emission – because, really, that was the point of this conversion. But it doesn’t stop there. They can also take advantage of luxury features such as double screens mounted on front headrests, plush floor mats, heated seats, wireless headphones, power outlets and cup holders. It’s like a mobile living room, only with less clumsy family gatherings.
This rare S80 has only 55,809 km (34,678 miles) in the clock and seems to be in very good condition. The only previous owner would have been a Swedish company that used the stretched sedan to transport airport staff to its conference facilities outside Stockholm.

The Nilsson 300 should go between 340,000 and 380,000 Swedish krona ($ 35,700 – 36,100). For comparison, the examples used of the ordinary S80 in Sweden can be hung for as little as $ 5,200, of course, this price depends on their condition and the quantity stunning Daily driving that they have endured.
The second generation of the Volvo S80 was produced from 2006 to 2016 before being replaced by the S90. Nilsson, of course, also got her hands on the S90, stretching it in limousine. Soon, Volvo will launch the ES90 fully electric, with an S90 powered by ice on the way. It will be interesting to see if Nilsson works his magic on these new models, transforming them into even rarer and exaggerated limousines.
