  • A camouflaged prototype of the Dacia Sandero stage was taken in the process of testing in Europe.
  • The model offers redesigned bits and seems to have a larger infotainment display.
  • The Sandero Lifted family could arrive in 2026, probably alongside a updated jogger.

Dacia is working on an update for its best -selling product, which is none other than the Supermini Sandero. A slightly camouflaged prototype of what seems to be the step of Dacia Sandero Lifted was spotted by our spy photographers, revealing some of the changes to come.

The current third generation Sandero was introduced in 2020, on the CMF-B architecture which also underlies the total range of Ice Dacia. Supermini received Dacia’s new business identity in 2022 and more ADAS in 2024.

Judging by the new spying, the model will soon benefit from more extensive updates. At the front, the redrawn bumper seems to have a new grille and a reason for correspondence for lower consumption. The headlights will most likely benefit from new LED graphics, although their external shape can be postponed.

As you would expect, the profile remains unchanged, although a revised color palette and new wheel conceptions can improve its appeal. The cross version of the supermini (not) keeps the modular roof rails and the plastic coating which distinguishes it from the ordinary Sandero.

It seems that Dacia has forgotten to add camouflage to the rear bumper, which has additional inputs and a different design for the license plate support. Finally, the rear lights have new LED graphics and a dark finish for clusters.

The updated exterior design will probably be combined with some interior upgrades. The spying of Sandero’s walking reveal an autonomous infotainment screen larger on the dashboard, although the entry-level versions of the Sandero can keep the S-Smartphone holder for reasons of cost reduction.

In addition to the Sandero and the Sandero Stepay, similar updates should be applied to the Dacia Jogger associated Wagon Crossover. It remains to be seen if Dacia will apply mechanical modifications to its revised range of REPS, such as a revised chassis configuration and a heavier electrification dose on available powertrain.

And the new generation?

Last year, it was reported that a new generation of Dacia Sandero would arrive in 2027, retaining the CMF-B architecture and adding an entirely electric motorcycle-style group to the range. This leaves a short window for the lifting version of the current Sandero which could arrive in 2026.

Dacia could either call the lift a “new generation”, delay the launch of its successor, or keep it on sale alongside the new EV planned. In any case, we keep an eye on more revealing photos of Sandero prototypes in the near future.

Although it has been largely unchanged since its beginnings four years ago, the Dacia Sandero had its best year in 2024 with 309,392 sales. The Romanian supermini stole the best -selling tourist car in Europe at Tesla Model Y, proving that Europeans are still after the affordable Hayons more than anything else.
