  • The single mini was built by a British expert specializing in replicas of Ford GT40.
  • This tailor -made creation has a personalized chassis and a rear traction built by hand.
  • The power comes from a 5.0 -liter Ford V8 engine with 300 horsepower in the tap.

This truck the size of a pint may not be an Austin original mini-pick-up, but it is an extremely intriguing creation that we are sure an absolute riot to drive. This daring was built in the United Kingdom and headed for the auctions later this month, where it could sell between £ 30,000 (~ $ 38,800) and £ 35,000 (~ $ 45,200). It may seem a lot, but you would find it difficult to find another truck the size of a pint like this all over the world.

The company behind this creation is GT developments. Although this name is not familiar to you, the British brand was a leader in the construction of Ford GT40 replicas in the late 1990s. It built this mini collection in 1994 to show its engineering prowess, and the emblematic auctioneers have now been responsible for selling it.

Under the underside of this wacky creation is the same GT developments of hand-made chassis used for its GT40 replicas. The company then bought the body from a mini domain but cut most of the back half, transforming it into a pick-up. However, the bed is not a storage compartment like most trucks. Instead, it houses the engine. Yes, it is a mini mid-term engine.

Not only that, but the engine is a 5.0 -liter V8 Ford coupled with a five -speed manual transmission. The engine offers approximately 300 hp, which are all sent to the rear wheels. There is no word on how much the car weighs, but it must be extremely light and can probably make you question some life decisions behind the steering wheel that even a new RAM 1500 TRX cannot compete. The auction house notes that the mini has been equipped with coilvers and improved brakes.

Inside, the cabin is at best spartan: a half-roll cage, racing harnesses, a pair of black seats and a simple alloy dashboard concern the extent of amenities. The gear lever is mounted on the threshold on the driver’s side and the exposed connection takes place directly at the back of the car.

If this wild creation has bitten your interest, it will be auctioned on Saturday March 22. You can place your offer here.
