  • Lexus will sell the new RZ in RZ 350th, RZ 500E and RZ 550E F Sport Trims in Europe.
  • It now offers simulated gears and synthetic “engine” sounds for additional commitment.
  • The brand has not yet announced the specifications of the North American model.

Lexus has been developing a management system for several years now, but rather than rushing it on the market, has taken its soft time to perfect it. It seems that this is exactly what it did with the Lexus RZ 2026 Faclifted, confirming that it will be launched with Steer-by Wire. The updated model will also be presented with simulated quarters of speed, which promise to make the driving experience a little more attractive.

So far, the Japanese brand has only published European specifications for the RZ 2026, with details for the North American model still pending. A 77 kWh battery is available on the range, with Lexus estimating a motor range of up to 357 miles (575 km) for the RZ 350th.

Performance variants

A pair of more performance variants has also been announced. The first is incompatible the RZ 500E and contains two electric motors which combine to deliver 375 hp (280 kW), propellanting it at 100 km / h (62 MPH) in 4.6 seconds. This model has an estimated range of 311 miles (500 km).

The RZ 550E F Sport, which produces 402 hp (300 kW) and accelerates 100 km in just 4.4 seconds. As expected, increased performance is at the expense of the beach, which falls to 280 miles (450 km).

By-by-Wire

The biggest title in the RZ 2026 may now be delivered with a complete steering system. We tested a prototype of this system in 2023, and it is now ready for prime time. The system is twinned with a yoke steering wheel and has variable steering relationships, without physical connection between the yoke and the front wheels.

Simulated speeds

Lexus also seems to have been inspired by Hyundai and Kia by implementing a system of synthetic gap in the new RZ. Lexus calls the interactive manual reader, and it has been associated with simulated engine sounds. According to the brand, this configuration “offers a more sporty and more reactive driving sensation, offering greater commitment and driving pleasure”. We will have to see on this subject when we have the chance to drive the new RZ.

The details of the prices specific to the market for the RZ 2026 have not been confirmed. The American version must be announced in the not too distant future.
