3/11 update: Mercedes has just confirmed that the new CLA will make its world premiere this Thursday, March 13 at 7 p.m. CE (2 p.m. HNE). In addition to the announcement, the automaker has dropped some new teasers from the compact model, with a strong accent on star -shaped lights. This theme seems to be a major design element for the CLA, because the stars appear not only in the head and the rear lights, but also throughout the front grille, illuminated by dozens of small star -shaped lights.
The Mercedes Cla Redétinée has been a familiar show for two years, but the model finally enters the Homestretch. He is now celebrating by undressing and showing skin. While the front and rear ends are strongly camouflaged, the last prototype has an exposed body. He is immediately familiar, but incorporates some clues from the EQE and the EQS.

The changes are obvious because we can see the rationalized body as well as the door handles mounted to flush. The greenhouse was also completely altered and it is an annoying mess while the third quarter glass extends into the back door. As a result, there are incompatible lines and an unattractive mixture of shapes.
At the ends, there are lighting units infused with stars that have become a characteristic of the Mercedes Modern. They are joined by an evolving grille with a single bar and new bumpers.
The CLA redesigned will make its beginnings next year and will drive on the new modular architecture Mercedes. The company has revealed a little in recent months and has previously confirmed an electric variant with an engine mounted at the rear producing 268 hp (200 kW / 272 PS).
Customers can also opt for a 4Matic variant, which adds a 107 hp (80 kW / 109 PS) engine at the front. It has only “boost” capacity because the engine undertakes when the additional power or traction is necessary.

We will learn more about the electric motorcycle group closer to the launch, but Mercedes has already confirmed that the CLA has an 800 -volt electrical architecture as well as a quick continuous current load capacity up to 320 kW. The company also plans to offer an optional 85 kWh silicon oxide battery.
If you are not sold on the electric revolution, you can expect a new family of four -cylinder petrol engines. The Americans will obtain a hybridized powertrain which consists of a 1.5 -liter engine, a small battery and a double clutch transmission with eight -speed with an integrated electric motor. The engine produces 188 hp (140 kW / 190 PS), while the engine contributes to an additional 27 hp (20 kW / 27 PS). The front traction is standard, but the all -wheel drive will be optional.
Alongside the sedan, Mercedes also develops the CLA shooting brake, the Break Swoopy Station of the series. He should make his debut later this year, however, as the current model, it is unlikely to go to the United States.
