What followed was a chain of events that ended with the authors taken – thanks to the determination of the victim.

The victim told the police that they thought everything was legitimate after finding and paid a car for sale in Craigslist. The seller even had DMV documents, including a title to check things. It was only when the buyer went to the real DMV that he discovered the truth: the car was stolen after being rented on Turo.

However, the buyer did not just suspend his head in sorrow. Instead, they worked with the Corona police to find another similar list. In addition, the police found another man raw working with Flores named Lasso Floris. He also had a crime mandate for stolen traffic vehicles. In particular, Corona police think there could be other victims of the same scam.
