With more than 700 hp and combined with an aero Wild like the 911 GT3 RS, the new GT2 RS should be a track monster

During the recent annual Porsche conference, the automaker made a series of revelations, including the fact that he is thinking about a new SUV powered by combustion. However, more interest in car lovers was Porsche’s commitment to “an additional flagship model” for the 911 family – which could very well be the new 911 GT2 RS.
Porsche built GT2 versions of generations 993, 996 and 997 of 911, before relaunching the model in 2017, and mounting the putting it by GT2 RS. The generation 992 has not yet received GT2 RS, but the prefacelift model has included special high performance variants such as the 911 Turbo and Turbo S, the GT3 and GT3 RS, Dakar and 911 S / T.

In mid-2024, Porsche launched a facelift for the generation 992 model, and although it has updated standard Carrera models, alongside the GT3 and GT3 versions, more extreme and powerful versions like GT3 RS and Turbo / Turbo S have not yet been added to the range. When confirming the new “flagship product” in the 911 range, Porsche said that the car “would further increase the bar” in the sports cars segment, which exactly the 991-general GT2 RS was doing.
Rumors have been running on a new GT2 RS for some time. In February, a mobile screen capture. Although its authenticity cannot be checked, it lists the car with a PDSF of € 450,000 (~ $ 489,000), probably including taxes and indicates that it will arrive in 2026.

The old 911 GT2 RS projected 690 hp and 553 LB-PI (750 Nm) of torque from its six cylinders with double turbocharger of 3.8 liters, but the Supercar game has evolved since 2017. Any new GT2 RS will probably have produced more than 750 HP, which in fact easily the fastest on the market.
