The Japanese twin of Toyota Crown Signia American offers unique camping characteristics and other accessories

Toyota finally launched the Domaine de la Couronne in Japan, more than a year after the beginnings of the Signia de la Couronne almost identical in North America. The model is a combination of a wagon and an SUV, and is available with a hybrid or rechargeable hybrid powertrain.
With the launch of The Crown Estate, Japanese buyers now have access to the four members of the new Toyota Crown range, including crossing, sport and sedan. The new-to-Japon domain is the most practical of the lot, measuring 194.1 inches (4,930 mm) long, 74 inches (1,880 mm) wide and 64 inches (1,625 mm) high, positioned above the RAV4 and the Harrier in the Japanese Toyota range.

Visually, the Japanese crown estate reflects the design of the sign of the United States Crown with the hammer style face. The only difference with the American market model is the absence of ambular indicators and the rear badge.
Inside, we find a familiar digital cockpit with two 12.3 -inch screens and a steering wheel with the crown emblem. The SUV has a five -seat layout with a 570 LT boot (20.1 cubic feet). The rear bench can be folded completely flat, increasing the loading capacity to 1,470 LT (51.9 cubic feet).
In addition, an optional chair and terrace table makes it more suitable for outdoor activities, especially when combined with the flexible luggage carpet available. Note that these campsite-oriented options are not yet available for the Signia of the United States Crown. The same goes for the sporting bodykit and the 21 -inch shiny wheels by Modellista, which are offered as optional extras in Japan.
The color palette includes five options and five other two -color finishes. The precious metal and massive gray combination is exclusively available for the Crown Estate Phev, combined with different 21 -inch alloy wheels. Inside, Toyota offers three color diagrams for padding, including black, saddle tan and grayish blue with vintage -style cloud patterns.
PHEV option with an EV range of 55 miles
As with the rest of the Crown range, the succession rises on the TNGA-K architecture, with an adaptive variable suspension and a dynamic rear direction for greater comfort and maneuverability. However, unlike the Signia Crown which is exclusively available with a hybrid self-loading system, the Crown Estate offers the possibility of a rechargeable hybrid configuration.

The HEV and PHEV motorcycle groups have a 2.5-liter petrol engine with natural suction helped by two electric motors offering all-wheel drive (E-Four). The ice produced alone 188 hp (190 PS) in the hybrid and 174 hp (177 PS) in the rechargeable hybrid. The front electric motor offers approximately 50% more power compared to the crown crossing and the crown sport, generating 180 hp (182 PS), while the rear electric motor is good for 53 hp (54 PS).
The big difference is that the rechargeable hybrid is equipped with a lithium-ion battery of 51 Ah larger allowing up to 89 km (55 miles) of EV range only, according to WLTC standards. The battery is mounted under the ground so that the interior space on the HEV is not compromised.
According to Toyota, the average fuel consumption is 47 MPG (5 LT / 100 km) for the HEV and 47.75 MPG (4.9 LT / 100 km) for the PHEV.
The Toyota Crown Estate is already available on order in Japan. The hybrid version is for ¥ 6,350,000 ($ 42,900), while the rechargeable hybrid starts at ¥ 8,100,000 ($ 54,700). By way of comparison, the Toyota Toyota Toyota Crown Signia starts at $ 43,590.
