  • The Grenadier models built between July 6, 2023 and April 19, 2024 are recalled.
  • Outdoor door buttons can remain depressed due to an incorrect assembly.
  • The dealers were invited to replace all the outdoor door buttons on the all-terrain.

Ineos recalls more than 7,000 vehicles in the United States due to a door locking mechanism that could cause the moving door to open. This could be dangerous for occupants and other road users and will require models affected to be returned to dealerships.

The British brand says that the door button mechanism on the Grenadier 2024 models may have been assembled with not enough fat. This means that the exterior door pimples can remain in a depressed position, preventing the door from completely locking. If this happens, the door could open at random.

Grenadiers impacted were manufactured between July 6, 2023 and April 19, 2024. The owners meeting the problem may notice that the door buttons find themselves stuck and observe a different sound when the door is closed because it does not fully engage with the attacker. A warning will also appear on the dashboard, confirming if a door is not completely closed.

Ineos first became aware of several warranty complaints for the external doors’ buttons sticking when the doors opened from outside in October 2023. He quickly started reworking vehicles in his facilities and in February 2024, published a technical service bulletin for concessionaires, asking them to reproduce the mechanism. Despite these efforts, Ineos was alerted by two door opening reports by leading to American cars the same year, and earlier this month, the question represents a defect related to security.

The owners will be informed of the recall of March 31, 2025. The dealers were invited to replace all the door button assemblies for free. These new assemblies have better advice and better kinematic mechanisms and are assembled with a better “fat application process”.
