The rental car giants are generally not known to create limited edition muscle cars, but again, Hertz is not your typical rental company. Over the years, the brand has teamed up with various car manufacturers to produce catchy and catchy models in special edition and in May, one of these rare machines will reach the auction block. Meet the Chevrolet Camaro SS 2020, a product from Hertz’s collaboration with Hendrick Motorsports.
Only 200 of these black and yellow camaros were built and they were made available in 15 different airport locations across the United States, including hotspots like Atlanta, Dallas and Las Vegas. If you always wanted to feel like a rap star during navigation towards your flight, it was your chance. Interestingly, this particular Camaro has never been rented. Apparently, someone decided to keep him out of the tarmac and resume, just waiting for his moment under the spotlight.

Now, this muscle car heads for Mecum Auctions, where it will be sold at its Indy 2025 event in Indianapolis on May 15. MECUM confirmed that this Camaro is the number 198 of the 200 units produced, and it was barely affected, with only 37 miles (59 km) on its odometer. For all those who have already rented a car and given what type of abuse they can endure, it is a massive advantage. You will not deal with usual post-Location wear.

As you can imagine with a special edition, the Hertz special Camaro SS Chevrolet Camaro SS is delivered with a multitude of out -of -competition features. This is in particular a black body with contrasting yellow accents and scratches, black satin wheels of 20 inch, illuminated door rim plates and yellow brake calipers. There is also a new front separator, Hertz Fender badges and a black leather interior.

On the performance side, the Hertz Special is equipped with a force -legged, cold air consumption and a double -back exhaust system. These upgrades help the 6.2 -liter V8 engine to produce 480 hp (358 kW / 487 PS), a 25 horsepower bump (19 kW / 25 PS) on the SS factory. It was never supposed to be a sprawl.
MECUM has only published one photo of the Camaro SS at auction so far, but since the 200 units have been built in the same specifications and colors, you can have a good idea of what to expect these photos of another example, graciousness of Hendrick Motorsports, below.

For those who really wanted to take a notch, Hertz and Hendrick Motorsports also offered an even rarer series of 24 examples based on the flagship ZL1, equipped with a larger Callaway compressor. With 750 hp (559 kW / 760 PS), it is a serious power upgrade – 130 hp more than the standard ZL1 and 270 hp on Camaro SS from Hertz. But, if you hope to hang one, well, good luck to find one to sell.
Although it is difficult to predict exactly what these Camaro SS will sell, some Hertz cars in a limited edition are known to attract strong auctions. If you are looking for something that combines a little history, muscle and exclusivity, this Camaro, that you can discover herecould be your ticket.
