The city of Green has the most round points in the northeast of Ohio, and it is preparing to add even more
–>
- Green roundabout projects Ohio allowed the city of $ 1.2 million in infrastructure costs.
- New multi-vow roundabouts with key intersections have considerably reduced traffic congestion.
- Analysts believe that a 9 -way road would be necessary to correspond to this impact with the intersections.
Most people have probably not heard of the city of Green, Ohio, but this small town in the northeast part of the state suddenly attracts something that you do not expect: roundabouts. Yes, roundabouts. Although they may seem to be a relatively banal characteristic of road design, these circular intersections have in fact helped the city to win a national price.

By slowing trafficking and keeping things gently, roundabouts have considerably reduced serious accidents that generally occur at traditional intersections. And in a city of around 28,000 inhabitants where congestion was a growing problem, the addition of more roundabouts had a notable impact. Not only did they improve safety for drivers and pedestrians, but they also saved city money on infrastructure costs.
Less congestion, more security
The “Massillon Road Roundabouts Project” was an original idea of the American StructurePoint engineering company, which designed and built two multi-vow roundabouts with Boettler Road and Corporate Woods Circle / Thorn Drive, replacing older intersections. The new design also includes sidewalks and updated pedestrians for pedestrians, which makes the region more accessible for everyone.
This simple solution has attenuated congestion in an animated area which sees more than 24,000 vehicles per day. According to an analysis of American StructurePoint, the road should have been extended to nine ways to obtain the same result with traditional intersections.
The company claims that the roundabout project has enabled the city of around $ 1.2 million in costs linked to the grip, the acquisition of land, the construction and future maintenance.
Thanks to the success of this project, the City of Green and American StructurePoint received the National Reconnant Award at the 2025 Engineering Excellence Awards by the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC). In addition, the project should receive the price of the exceptional road project of the American Society of Highway Engineers later this month.
More roundabouts to come
With 12 roundabouts already in place, Green is on the right track to have even more. A 2.5 mile section of Massillon Road alone now has six roundabouts, and the plans are moving to add four others, bringing the city total to 16.
It would make Green the city of northeast of Ohio with the most roundabouts, as indicated by Fox8. Interestingly, the center of Ohio is even more engaged in roundabouts, the Grand Columbus region has more than 100. And for the record, Dublin, Ohio, currently holds the title of the capital of the State roundabout with 17.
Who knew that the roundabouts could be so important?
