What do you think of the “Cold Start” of the Charger Daytona?

Dodge’s Fratzonic exhaust is trying to do its best to arouse emotion, but does that succeed?

  • The Fratzonic System of Charge Daytona aims to reproduce the sound of a V8.
  • Many fans of muscle cars feel transformed the charger into EV have been an error.
  • Try as he could, Dodge did not make the SV understand as well as a traditional ice.

One of the best things about the possession of a muscle car powered by V8 is the generally intoxicating exhaust sound. The old Dodge Challenger had a particularly incredible roar on a cold start, and Dodge seems to have tried to reproduce the experience with the new all -electric charger Daytona. Has it done a good job? We will leave you the judge of this.

After traveling the net, we found a few videos that capture the “cold start” (more like the power supply) of the loading EV, which can be lit remotely with the key FOB. He uses the controversial fratzonic exhaust to try to reproduce the sound of a V8 muscle car.

Hyundai has undoubtedly launched the use of fake ice sounds in high -performance electric vehicles with its Ioniq 5 N. Dodge widely appreciated aimed at reproducing this with the fratzonic system, but it did not receive the same type of praise from the Hyundai system. It is probably because, while the Ioniq 5 does not have a ice predecessor, loading the Daytona must somehow fill the shoes of one of the most popular muscle cars, which, in recent years, have been sold with V8 engines.

Given Dodge’s story to build incredible muscular cars, the release of an EV would always cause controversy, and try to give the impression that a V8 naturally made comparisons with real giants of eight cylinders.

Obviously, the “Cold Start” function of the Charger Daytona does not sound as well as a V8, certainly not on the video. Personally, I do not think it seems terrible, and it is a little more interesting and engaging than not to have of sound at all. Dodge may not fail to reproduce the chills of the old challenger with his new generation muscle car, but at least he tried to make something attractive for enthusiasts. After all, most electric vehicles on the market look like refrigerators on wheels and do not even have the slightest emotion.
