  • Renault will build 1,980 examples of its new 3rd Super Hatch turbo.
  • The custom RWD platform offers wheel engines making 535 hp.
  • Zero at 62 MPH takes less than 3.5 seconds, but no price is yet given.

A wave of orders, glowing criticisms and a car of the year Gong proved Renault rendered the right decision bringing the 5 as a VE, and now he made the retroelectric idea further. The 5th turbo 3rd is a tribute of 535 hp (540 PS) to the Renault 5 Turbo Renault 5 car which reached the exhibition halls in 2027.

Although it looks like a 5 EV regular front transmission with a large architect kit (and you can bet that many will be converted), the 3rd turbo is built around a tailor-made aluminum platform and postpones only a few details such as rear lights and door mirrors. At 1450 kg (3,200 lb) VW Golf GTI.

Double motors, Drift and serious speed mode

It has two rear wheel engines by making 200 kW (268 hp / 272 PS) each and Renault promises that it will be able to withdraw certain epic slides using a drift assistance function and vertical rally style brake. A time of less than 3.5 seconds to 62 MPH (100 km for) is cited, which means that the performance should be equal with the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N.

A 70 kWh battery housed under the ground offers up to 248 miles (400 km) of range when driving reasonably, and unlike the 5 daily EVs, it has 800 volts of electricity, which means that it can manage 350 kW of load and fill 15 to 80% in 15 minutes.

Compared to stock 5, the wheelbase of 2,570 mm (101.2 inches) of 2,570 mm of 2,570 mm is 30 mm (1.2 inch) more and the windshield is returned to modify the proportions. Renault says that the platform was developed by Alpine, so we would be surprised if it is not the same architecture that we will find under the skin of the new A110 electric sports car which was very soon.

Twenty -inch wheels nestled under each distended arc seem much larger than that and the upper vents cut in each rear rear panel send air that came out in the rear body. Their lower counterparts are used to cool the brakes. We do not see a large part of the interior of the Renault photo gallery, but he tells us to expect six -point harnesses, a carbon garnish, Alcantara coatings and 10.1 inch and 10.25 inch open screens.

Retro colors, TBD price

Renault launched the 3rd in color that turned a hat to the Corsican livery in 1982 from the original turbo, but other colors and graphics will be available, some retro and other contemporaries. There will also be many customization options to help separate even more money buyers.

Exactly how much money they will have to spend to get their hands on one of the 1,980 turbos (this number one reference to the launch date of the rally car), Renault does not say. But we expect it to be in the Junior Supercar category. American sales are not planned, but fans in Europe, the Middle East, Japan and Australia will have the opportunity to place an order in the coming weeks with the first deliveries planned for 2027.
