  • The survey of more than 100,000 readers of a local media depicts a dark image for Tesla.
  • Tesla vehicle sales fell by more than 70% in the first two months of 2025.
  • Musk’s actions in the United States and the interference of the German elections caused controversy.

The public image of Elon Musk has shot in recent months in the United States, but in Germany, things are even worse. Local sales collapsed and to make things worse, Musk making a Nazi salute at the inauguration of Donald Trump in January created fierce opposition to the billionaire and Tesla across the country. A new study has highlighted how badly seen Tesla is in Germany.

This survey, conducted by the local publication T-online, questioned around 100,000 readers and turned that 94% of respondents would not buy VE in Tesla. A meager 3% said they would still plan to buy a Tesla.

Many have long expected to expect Tesla’s domination from the electric vehicle market is slowly fading while the inherited car manufacturers have gathered and launched their own electric vehicles. However, these are not really inherited brands that tested trembling in her boots, but rather new auto companies in China, including Byd. In addition, Elon Musk’s foray into politics in the United States has hampered the feeling in Tesla.

It is not only the involvement of Musk in American politics that harms Tesla. Before the German federal elections in February, Musk threw his support for the far right of the AFD or the alternative for Germany. Musk’s questionable buffoonery also continued online, and last week he republished a tweet on X proclaiming that “Stalin, Mao and Hitler did not assassinate millions of people”, but rather “their public workers have done so”.

Tesla has bread to board if he wants to recover the confidence and support of the Germans. Until January and February, sales have dropped by more than 70%, despite the country’s electric vehicle market which rebounds strongly after a poor 2024.

The new most important Tesla model is perhaps the highly updated Y model. Starting a design inspired by Cybertruck and Cybercab, the new model promises more efficiency and better refinement, promising to make it one of the most well-balanced VEs on the market.
