  • Ferrari attracts more younger buyers, according to the CEO of the company.
  • The company will continue to control production closely, with waiting times of more than 2 years.
  • It will be for those who seek to buy an EV with a brand new electric model, launched soon.

Ferrari can have fans of all age groups, but its main customers have traditionally been the reserve of those approaching a later stage of life – a step often associated with crises. However, according to information from Maranello, the brand has started to attract much younger customers, 40% of new buyers are now less than 40 years.

It is a leap of 10% compared to only 18 months ago and represents a dramatic change for the automobile, which prides itself on its exclusivity. But this change is not only a footnote, it is a sign that the practicing horse galloping in a new era.

Without going into the details of how Ferrari managed to make this seismic change in car sales for news, Ferrari CEO, Benedetto Vigna, has filed any credit to those around him. “I do not know, for other brands, but for us, it is a success thanks to our team,” said Vigna, speaking to CNBC.

Always exclusive, still Ferrari

The Mantra of Enzo Ferrari, to deliver a car less than market requests, was a characteristic of the company’s strategy – and according to Vigna, it is not about to change. The brand still maintains tight production, despite customers urging them to reduce the delivery window more than more than two years.

Vigna says that it is part of the experience, and it doesn’t matter whether it is a 78 -year -old man who is trying to enjoy the last years of his life, or a 37 -year -old man wishing to get the keys before his 40th anniversary. The waiting time will remain the same. Customers can beg everything they want for faster delivery times, but Ferrari is not in the field of mass production, and they are not about to start now.

“A 78 -year -old customer had to buy a Ferrari and said,” Listen, I can’t wait two years. I said: “It’s a motivation”, “said Vigna to CNBC.” There is another guy, younger, 37 years old, and he said: “When I am older, I would like to get the car before I was 40 years old.” I said: “Do not worry, you will get it when you are 39”, “he added.

One thing that will not remain the same is the way some Ferrari are powered. The Italian sports car manufacturer is preparing to launch its first fully electric vehicle on October 9, alongside five other new models this year. Vigna is confident in the brand’s three -part approach: traditional combustion engines, hybrids and fully electric Ferraris.

Of course, not everyone is on board with a Ferrari EV. Some loyalists will consider nothing without a V12 with strong dismissal and natural aspiration, but the CEO of the company suggests that there is a new wave of customers who will only buy if it is electric.
