The Flying Spur and Continental GT range should grow later this year

- Bentley is preparing to introduce “low -power derivatives” of the new continental GT.
- The current model has a rechargeable hybrid powertrain producing 771 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque.
- Revenues and operating profits suffered a big blow in 2024, and sales fell by 21.5%.
2024 was a year of change in Bentley because the company declared its farewell to its emblematic W12 engine, which made its debut in the first generation continental GT. This model helped relaunch the luxury brand and it also entered its fourth generation last year.
As part of the overhaul, Bentley replaced the W12 with a new plug-in hybrid motorcycle group which consists of a 4.0-liter double turbo V8 engine, an electric motor and a 25.9 kWh battery. This gives the speed and variants of a combined output of 771 hp (575 kW / 782 PS) and 738 lb-ft (1000 nm) of torque.

These are impressive figures, but the price starts at $ 306,250 for speed and rises to $ 330,950 for Mulliner. It is quite expensive, but Bentley suggested that more affordable variants are on the horizon.
While the company was tightened on the details, they confirmed that the “lower power derivatives” of The Flying Spur and Continental GT would arrive in 2025. We do not know about this, but it seems that they will use a deolmed version of the hybrid plug-in hybrid motorcycle group.
Speaking of future models, Bentley began to transform the oldest building in their Pyms Lane factory into a future mounting chain of electric vehicles. The EV should be launched in 2027 and the company previously described it as the “first real luxury urban SUV in the world”.
The crossover is part of the company’s Beyond100 + plan, which calls on the automaker to become electric only by 2035. This date has already been postponed once, but we can expect a “new hybrid or electric model each year for the next decade”.

While Bentley turned to the future, 2024 was not pretty because the income dropped by 10% to € 2.6 ($ 2.8 / £ 2.2) billion. Their operating profit also dropped from 37% to € 373 ($ 406 / £ 313) Millions.
Despite the disappointing result, Bentley said that 70% of customers chose a Mullander tailor -made option. Thanks to the demand for personalization, the company now wins the highest income of the car. However, it is not a lot of help when global sales decrease by 21.5% to 10,600 units.
The CEO of Bentley, Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser, said: “Last year marked a significant year in our transformation when we are preparing for our electric future. We invest at levels never seen in Bentley, because we are not only revolutionizing our product cycle plan, but we also transform an 85 -year -old site for a new age of electrification. Walliser continued by saying that 2025 seems difficult due to “difficult global market conditions and volatile political and economic environments”.
