  • More than 80 Tesla vehicles have been damaged in a Hamilton, Ontario dealership in a wave of vandalism.
  • The authorities examine video surveillance images and require public help to catch the authors.
  • Tesla was removed from the Vancouver Auto Show concerning security and protest concerns.

Tesla’s continuing battle with vandalism does not seem to show any sign of relaxation, and if anything, it is only worsening. In what is perhaps one of the biggest attacks that we have heard so far, at least in terms of the number of vehicles affected, more than 80 Tesla cars have been damaged at a dealership in Hamilton, Ontario on Wednesday.

The authorities were called to the Tesla dealer located at 999 Upper Wentworth Street, near Upper Sherman Avenue and Mohawk Road East, following important cars in the dealer’s inventory.

Upon arrival, the police discovered that more than 80 Tesla vehicles parked outside had been damaged, including deep scratches, perforated tires and other forms of vandalism.

“Police are currently examining video surveillance images and asking the public to resolve this crime,” Hamilton police said in a statement.

The time of this last attack coincides with an investigation in London, Ontario, where the police are studying suspicious fire in a local parking lot. A Tesla Model S 2025 was discovered on Monday, according to the CBC. Fortunately, no injury has been reported, but the police estimate the damage at around $ 140,000.

Tesla started from the Vancouver Auto Salon

In another blow to the brand in Canada, the organizers of the Vancouver Auto Show launched Tesla of programming earlier this week, citing security problems. The event that starts today, the organizers feared that Tesla’s presence attracts angry demonstrations and additional vandalism. Vias said he had given several chances of the company to withdraw voluntarily, but Tesla refused. “The main concern of Vancouver Auto Show is the safety of participants, exhibitors and staff,” the program organizers said in a press release.

A global problem

These incidents are barely isolated, with attacks against vehicles and Tesla dealers who appear worldwide – although the United States has certainly experienced a disproportionate part. In fact, there has been a disturbing increase in vandalism targeting both Tesla private cars and society’s locations, including dealers and compressor stations in recent weeks.

The intensity of the attacks seems to have increased since former American president Donald Trump appointed the CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk Aggressive reductions of the Ministry of Public Expenditure, which led to generalized layoffs, have probably delighted increasing tensions. Musk’s often controversial tweets on his X platform, which continue to stir the pot, certainly did not help calm the situation either.
