Karma believes that EREV motorcycle groups are “ideally adapted to the market” and has delayed the launch of the electric vehicle market
–>
- The new Karma Amaris is the cut version of the next Gyesera sedan.
- The model will come into production next year, with an EREV motorcycle group.
- The launch of fully electric Kaveya was postponed until 2027.
Karma Automotive unveiled its first two-door coupe, The Amaris, which should strike production in the fourth quarter of 2026. Built on the same platform as the next Gyesera sedan, the Amaris includes the EREV Motopropulser group (Extended Electric Vehicle) of Karma.
The Amaris borrows more than some style details from the gyesera, especially around the front and rear ends, but its profile is distinguished. With two massive “swan doors” which rotate upwards and a lateral exhaust “inspired by Americana”, this certainly makes a declaration.
Plus: Karma Invictus is a light dream and covered with carbon
The dashboard ratio in the axis, the sculpted lines and the muscle wings have a subtle wink to the design language of Aston Martin, giving the coupe a refined but aggressive presence.
At the rear, the sloping roof line leads to an aggressive tail with a specific design to Amaris for the rear bumper. The coupe rises on a new set of 22 -inch forged aluminum wheels that Karma calls “constellation”. The body is made of carbon and aluminum fiber.
Motoprop and performance group
The Amaris is propelled by an EREV motorcycle group, which includes a new turbocharged four -cylinder engine which acts as a generator. The Karma has not disclosed too much details, but it mentioned that this engine is larger than the three -cylinder 1.5 liter found in the Karma Revero.
In terms of performance, the Amaris is not to be outdone. It will accelerate from 0 to 60 MPH (0-96 km / h) in just 3.5 seconds, exceeding 165 MPH (266 km / h).
Karma Amaris
As you may have guessed from its design, the Karma Amaris goes up on the same aluminum spatial architecture of the next Gyesera sedan. For the context, the gyesera is essentially a major update of the Revero, which is itself a modern vision of the original Fisker Karma of 2011.
Although Karma initially introduced the gyesera as a fully electric vehicle, they have since changed a heart. The company has decided to equip it with an EREV motorcycle group and give it a new look for a 2025 version. This pivot reflects larger changes in the demand of electric vehicle consumers, especially in premium and ultra-luxury segments.
Plus: Karma Ivara GT-UV Concept teases a possible production crossing with EV or Phev Power
The same trend affects other Karma projects. Kaveya’s fully electric flagship coupé, initially planned for a 2026 version, was postponed in 2027. Meanwhile, the Ivara GT-UV crossover, a potential EV or Phev, will make its debut the same year, widening the Karma range.
Marques McCammon, president of Karma Automotive, said: “Karma Automotive remains at the forefront of EREV motorcycle groups, and believes more than ever that freedom of refueling with petrol or electricity is ideally adapted to the market. And performance twinned with a range of concern without worry, a combination that only EREV can offer. »»
