A few years ago, we talked to our readers of Joe Markham and his German shepherd named Fritz. Markham had a car repair workshop in downtown Denver and worked on a Volkswagen bus type 2 in the late 1960s, when he suddenly heard Fritz get crazy.
He went to investigate and saw the dog chew a bulbous axle stop and have time for his life. It turned out to be an excellent toy because the rubber was strong enough to support repeated chewing, while being soft enough not to damage Fritz’s teeth.

It sparked a six -year trip, which saw Markham perfectly the “composition, size and shape of the rubber” of what was going to become the classic Kong dog toy. It was launched in 1976 and millions have been sold since then.
Volkswagen and Kong are now joining their forces to a special edition dog toy inspired by the ID. Buzz. Designed to celebrate the national day of puppies and the story shared between companies, the toy offers a catchy blue cabana design and unique packaging. Only a limited number of units are available and the price starts at $ 13.99 before taxes and shipping costs of $ 8.95.
For each toy purchased, the beneficiary organizations Volkswagen, Kong and VCA will give another to a local refuge. In addition, 100% of net products will go to charity organizations VCA and its national animal shelter network.
