  • Gianni Agnelli had this Zagato wagon for two years.
  • RM Sotheby’s also sells a family Fiat 130 and a panda previously owned by Agnelli.

Lancia produced incredible successes over the decades. One of the most memorable cars of the brand of the 80s and 1990s was the Thea sedan, which then generated a version of station wagon designed by Pininfarina. But this particular theme is even more remarkable than the standard wagon.

You see, when Lancia was thinking about the idea of transforming TheA into a wagon, the company contacted Pininfarina and Zagato, trying them with the design of their own real estate version of TheA. Zagato unveiled its creation first, at the Geneva Automobile Fair in 1985, before Pininfarina presented their Thea wagon at the Salon of the same year of Frankfurt. Lancia finally decided to produce the car designed by Pininfarina, and only two Zagato prototypes were built.

This particular Thea was the personal car of the Italian industrialist and leader of Fiat Honcho Gianni Agnelli, and he led him for two years. Visually, it looks very much like the Pininfarina car but has black d pillars and a slightly different tailgate.

RM Sotheby’s Will at the auction of the car on April 20 and notes that if Agnelli separated from him after two years, he has always stayed in Italy. It currently has 92,329 km (57,370 miles) in the clock and seems to be in excellent condition. The cabin has also been well maintained and the blue fabric seats show very few signs of wear. The auction house provides that it sells between € 80,000 (~ $ 86,600) and € 160,000 (~ $ 173,200).
