  • The thieves took a total of eight corvets from a GM factory in Bowling Green, Ky.
  • Shortly after, the agents found all the cars near a ZR-1 focused on employees.
  • Now a person is in detention and the officers are looking for other accomplices.

Thieves slide the cars all the time, but it is not every day that they decide to steal them directly on the production chain of the automaker. However, this is exactly what happened to Bowling Green of General Motors, Kentucky, Plant, where the corvettes are made. And just to add an additional small absurdity to the mixture, it was not a work of lone wolf. No, eight vets were taken.

While it was initially reported that the Corvette ZR-1 of 1,064 horsepower 2025 was one of the stolen vehicles, GM then contacted Road and track To specify that a ZR-1 was not one of the stolen corvets. Nevertheless, you expect GM staff to be particularly vigilant with these cars, whatever their garnish. However, despite this, a group of thieves managed to drive them out.

A routine check that was not so routine

In fact, the only reason why the factory employees noticed was that the Sheriff’s Bureau of Warren called. An officer had seen a corvette with all its production installation stickers on it in a complex of apartments about 14 minutes from the green bowling plant. The seller of Corvette Mark Thomas published on the event on Facebook and unveiled certain details.

When the authorities contacted the factory, no one had apparently noticed that all the models they had built were present and explained. Obviously, the sheriff’s office told the production center that it lacked at least one car. It turns out that it was actually not missing not one, but eight! The suspects would have crossed a fence to take out the cars.

Thieves seem that the thieves have led some of the stolen corvettes to a renovation store at Lowe’s home nearby. The reason for this choice of destination remains uncertain, but at least a lively cars passionate spotted a red ZR-1 and managed to take some photos. Luckily, the police were also on the scene, recovering some of the stolen corvettes.

Plus: 2025 Corvette ZR1 is a 1,064 hp hypercar with a top speed of 215+ MPH

Oddly, the Lowes in question are only 7.3 miles, about 17 minutes by car (probably even faster by a ZR-1 in Full Clap) of the factory. We could expect that thieves stored them in a closed garage or something, especially not next to a new ZR-1 of the Red brand in nature would surely attract attention, but apparently, they were not criminal brains.

According to WBKO News, DEANTAE WALKER, 21, from Westland, Michigan was arrested in relation to the bold breakage. He is now accused of having received stolen property of $ 10,000 or more, fleeing or avoiding the police and resisting arrest, while the police are still looking for his accomplices.
