Usoga is traditionally thought of not being favorable to electric vehicles, but their president has agreed to buy a Tesla in solidarity with “innovators”

- The President of the US Oil & Gas Association is committed to buying a Tesla.
- The purchase will be made once the usoga has 61,130 subscribers on X, the same price as the car.
- The president of the association stresses that electricity in its region is generated by burning gas.
Like the mixture of oil and water, the perspective of the US Oil & Gas Association showing faith in electric vehicles is improbable – and yet we are, in 2025, where everything is possible. It is true, the president of USOGA, Tim Stewart, says he is ready to buy a Tesla. Not because he needs it, but to make a point.
Stewart wants to show solidarity with “innovators and manufacturers” according to an article on X. The message was accompanied by an image of a tesla at a price of $ 61,130. The capture? He wants the @us_oga account to reach a 61,130 follower account before going ahead with the purchase. “Who would have thought of living to see such moments? These are cats and dogs living together. Mass hysteria,” he joked.

However, this is not Stewart’s first EV experience. Fox Business reports that in 2022, he said that he had bought an ID from Volkswagen.4 and had planned to document the experience.
Despite this, the decision to support Tesla is indeed unexpected. Since USOGA has lobby for oil and gas exploration, the association has been considered the antithesis of the movement of the electric car. But it seems that the president of the collective Oil and Gas is ready to put aside the differences in order to support the Société de Musk.
Plus: more than half of Tesla owners go to gas cars, but it is an improvement
The timing occurs when Tesla faces a meticulous examination. Its vehicles and concessionaires have recently been targeted in acts of vandalism, part of a wave of counterposer linked to the role of Musk in the Department of Efficiency of the Government of the Trump Administration (DOGE). Despite this, Stewart’s gesture seems to suggest that there is room to overlap, even between the industries historically in disagreement.
There may be a method for this “madness” after all. The justification for Stewart is the justification: “My local utility is strongly based on natural gas for electricity production,” he said. “So I think that if we burn natural gas to load my electric vehicle, we even go out at the end.”
