Austria takes speed seriously, and an unfortunate driver of Bugatti learned that the difficult way

According to HeuteA 38 -year -old Austrian led to the famous Ringstrasse of Vienna, a cycle route which goes around the historic center of the city, when he reached speeds of 76 MPH (123 km / h). This seems to be more than double the speed limit and quickly encountered a speed trap located near the parliament building.

After stopping, the driver apparently tried the classic excuse “It is not mine”, saying that the Bugatti belonged to a friend. This did not help him get out of his jam when the police confiscated the Bugatti and pulled him from the scene. As for the driver, he would have lost his license.
While the seizure of dollars of several million dollars seems a little extreme, the country promulgated difficult laws last year to fight against “Super Speeders”. They specifically target drivers covering more than 37 MPH (60 km / h) on the speed limit.

It allows the coupe to accelerate from 0 to 62 MPH (0-100 km / h) in 2.4 seconds and 0-248 MPH (0-400 km / h) in 32.6 seconds. When it was new, prices started about $ 3 million before taxes.
