We may have just tripped on what could very well be the highest Hyundai Ioniq 5 in existence. Despite being a 2023 model, this Korean EV has accumulated an amazing 666,255 km (413,991 miles) – almost enough to go back and forth to the moon. Yes, you read that right. The moon.
This Ioniq 5 appeared on a Facebook page where the owners regularly share their mileage steps, and it has certainly won a place at the top. This private ioniq 5 lives in Korea, and the owner led him more than most people in their lives. It’s a car that saw a serious road time.

The position does not clarify the exact model of the Ioniq 5, but the original battery of the car would have maintained until it reaches 580,000 km (360 395 miles). When he finally abandoned the ghost, Hyundai replaced him at no cost. Now we are making ourselves scratch our heads on it.
In most markets, such as the United States and Australia, the IONIQ 5 battery warranty generally covers 8 to 10 years, but with a 100,000 miles ceiling (160,000 km). So why Hyundai decided to cover the cost of replacement is the assumption of anyone. Maybe they felt generous? Or maybe it’s just an extraordinary exception to the rule.
Whatever the reason for the free battery, let us not neglect the quantity of driving of this Ioniq 5 in a relatively short time. Depending on the position, the owner has had the Hyundai for 3 years and 4-5 months, covering an impressive 666,255 km or 413,991 miles.
If the Hyundai has been in their hands for exactly 3 years and 4 months (or 40 months), this reaches an average of 16,656 km (10,349 miles) per month, or about 555 km (345 miles) per day. If it’s been 3 years and 5 months, this represents a monthly average of 16,250 km (10,097 miles), or 541 km (336 miles) per day. Anyway, it’s a lot of time.
To really bring the point back to the house: the average distance between the earth and the moon is approximately 384,400 km (238,855 miles). Thus, the owner of this ioniq 5 led the equivalent of a one -way trip to the moon and return, then some. And have we mentioned that the owner is a seller? Yeah, this guy clearly spends more time driving his Ioniq 5 than most of us do not spend our phones. It is, of course, when he does not wait for him to charge.
