You can now buy the Japanese imitator Dodge Challenger with a hybrid powertrain
–>
- Mitsuoka launched the 1st M55 edition in Japan with only 250 units available.
- The M55 is based on the Honda Civic, offering both petrol and hybrid options.
- This model follows the M55 Zero edition with closed counters, which had a limited race of 100 units.
Mitsuoka is back, giving people what they want with a rejected Honda Civic which continues to channel the mind of a Dodge Challenger – but with a little more clumsiness. After the success of the original edition of M55 Zero, which sold in a flash last year, the Japanese company decided to launch 250 additional units in the 1st M55 edition. And yes, it always looks like the very confused little cousin of the challenger.
Plus: Mitsuoka will sell you a civic -based challenger for $ 52,000
The M55 made its debut as a unique project in November 2023, presenting a body inspired by Dodge Challenger bolted on a Honda civic chassis. Surprisingly, the concept encountered enthusiastic approval, and Mitsuoka quickly rotated to make it a production reality, keeping the design and the original intact characteristics.
Civic with a muscle touch
The Mitsuoka M55 is essentially a Japanese muscle car trapped in the body of a compact tailgate, an identity crisis on four wheels. The prolonged front overhang with its round quad-round headlights in the grille cried practically Dodge Challenger, while the quick tail, with optional perspectives on the rear glass, chanages Ford Mustang Vibes. It is a strange mixture, but hey, it has its own charm.
Mitsuoka
While the original M55 was only available in a shade of gray as little inspiring as Monday morning, the 1st M55 edition now offers 10 different paint options, including so exotic names that you might think that you shop for a yacht instead of a car. Choose from Platinum White Pearl, Sonic Gray Pearl, Premium Crystal Red Metallic, Sea Laded Blue Pearl, Grekscraper Gris, Blue Iceland, Old English White, John Mango, Spring Blue and Papaya Orange Metallic.
The interior, still very honda civic, obtains an upgrade with leather padding with tiny holes and elegant contrasting seams. The Honda emblem? Made, replaced by the Mitsuoka M55 Mitsuoka lettering on the steering wheel. If you really try to go up the bet, you can opt for carbon -style inserts. Everything is very … “I’m a little different, but not too different.”
MOTOPROPULSER GROUP OPTIONS
Regarding top -up garnishes and groups, the 1st M55 edition allows simple things with three choices and two motor options. The basic model is always powered by a 1.5 -liter turbocharged petrol engine producing a respectable 180 hp (134 kW / 182 PS). But if you feel ecological (or if you just want to be able to say with sufficiency “hybrid”), there is also the Honda E: HEV hybrid motorcycle group.
Price labels that will make you blink
The price of the 1st M55 edition starts at ¥ 7,568,000 ($ 50,100) for the petrol model, the hybrid arriving at ¥ 8,118,000 ($ 53,800). The flagship hybrid model? 8,427,100 ¥ ($ 55,800).
It’s a bit more affordable Than the now-sold-out M55 Zero Edition, Which was priced at ¥ 8.085,000 ($ 53,600), but that won’t stop the price from creeping up if you start adding optional extras like ¥ 495,000 ($ 3.300) for a snazzy paint paint Job, ¥ 495,000 ($ 3,300) for Leather Seats, and ¥ 395,000 ($ 2.600) for some carbon interior garnish.
Plus: Nissan Murano transforms into R35 GT-R of SUVs
Mitsuoka plans to start deliveries of the M55 Zero publishing in May 2025, while the 1st M55 edition will arrive in the streets in 2026. The company also mentioned that pre -orders of the new model will close once the 250 slot machines are broken, which is probably more than later than later. So if you are considering one of them, you may want to make your movement before disappearing.
