It turns out that the Germans are not the only ones to wave a “Nein” farm in Tesla. A new survey has shown that a huge 67% of Americans would not plan to own or rent one of the company’s electric vehicles. Unsurprisingly, Elon Musk is partly to blame.
Among the respondents, 20% cited musk as the “whole reason” that they would not plan to obtain a Tesla, while 17% said that it was “part of the reason”. This means that Elon Musk alone extinguishes 37% of Americans. It is much larger than the 27% who said that the Executive Franc-Parller had not participated in the decision not to consider a Tesla.

While Musk appreciated the cult status among his fans, it seems to have disappeared. When asked, “Elon Musk is the reason why you have or rent a Tesla or plan to own or rent a Tesla in the future?” Only 1% of respondents said yes to be the “full reason” or “part of the reason”.
The survey – which was carried out by Yahoo News and Yougov – interviewed 1,677 American adults online from March 20 to 24, 2025 with an error of around 2.6%, and found that the majority of people had an unfavorable opinion on musk. 45% have a very unfavorable opinion, while still 10% see it a little unfavorably. This contrasts with only 21% which have a very favorable opinion.
Tesla’s favorability echoes Musk that 49% of Americans have an unfavorable opinion on the car manufacturer. On the other hand, only 37% have a favorable opinion.
48% of people have disapproved of the way in which the Musk government’s ministry of effectiveness manages things, despite 49% of promoting the reduction of federal spending. 52% of people also believe that Musk is trying to help themselves more than he tries to help the country.
All of this suggests that Musk and Tesla are in a riding walk. Of course, when people are so angry, they shoot your dealers and bomb your vehicles, it is to be expected.
